This is my fourteenth and latest recording; a VWAB warm-up mix! One hour and fifty minutes (33 tracks) of Hardstyle Classics, released between 2006 and 2017. 
All tracks I’ve played were produced by deejays/producers who will be playing at the upcoming edition of VWAB! 🥳

This mix is my perception of what VWAB is all about. Music that doesn’t get old. Ever. 
Like the unparalleled and two and a half decades long unchanged, magical vibe that arises when lovers of Hardstyle Classics come together at Hardstyle Classics parties. A vibe that will never age 🙏🏻

Last weekend I was at VWAB Festival and had a blast. This party reminded me why I love this music so much. The people, the vibe, and our shared love for the early days of Hardstyle are simply incomparable. Since I'm still so excited about last weekend, I've produced a new Hardstyle Classics mix. 

Revokez presents: An Ode To The Early Days Of Hardstyle 

With very few exceptions, most of the tracks in this mix are premiering on my channel, as I played them for the first time in this mix. (Fun fact: Since I'm also a relentless learner and always discovering new tracks, I used Shazam (😂) a few times during VWAB when I heard tracks I didn't know yet, or whose names I didn't know until then. These tracks are, of course, included in this new mix!) 

Enjoy the 95 minutes long journey back to the good old days. Here you can expect nothing but the purest and most authentic form of Hardstyle there is, in my opinion.

Hi, I am (rookie!) DJ Franquillizer!

I decided to start deejaying late last year (November 2024), after being a daily base house music listener since the early 90’s and a spectator at various raves since 2001. 
To be playing my own favourite tracks with my own gear had always been an ambition but the right time just didn’t came. Until it came November last year and I bought a decent DJ-controller with proper audio gear. 
Without having any deejay experience nor knowledge of how a DJ controller worked or should be operated.  I’d always thought; four-quarter time music mixing can’t be that hard! I just knew I could do it and that I could teach myself some basic deejaying skills. 
After a few months of practicing it's all going pretty well if you ask me 😎

But please forgive me when my self taught mixing skills sound like shit! Don't expect my live recordings to be flawless. There's a lot of progress to be made and my skills are improving step by step. One step at a time! 
Just the fact that I now have the opportunity and equipment to mix, record, and share the music I love so much on this platform with friends and others who’re interested in hearing what DJ Franquillizer is all about, is beyond great! 🙏🏻


              • These are my Musical Memoirs •


The first (big) event I ever attended was Mystery Land  Festival back in 2001. 
A year later, an anniversary edition of Qlubtempo (1st of June 2002, Heineken Music Hall, Amsterdam) got me hooked on Hardstyle. It sounded like nothing else I had ever heard before and the Qlubtempo Hardstyle vibe was unparalleled. It was just perfect.

After Qlubtempo, hardstyle became a big part of my life. It shaped me as a person throughout the years. It contributed to my life in many ways; met my girlfriend at a party 20 years ago, had lots of social interaction at parties which brought me friends that I'm still lucky to have today, and I made memories that last forever.
I am so grateful that I have experienced it all and wouldn't have missed it for anything in the world.

My obsession with Hardstyle is more like an addiction really. I can very proudly say that I’m a Hardstyle junkie for life. What that means like is something I can only explain through the music. The universal language!
Every once in a while I'll present you an Early Hardstyle Classics liveset. Composed the Franquillizer way! 😎
