In their conversation, Gregor talks about some of the people, whose stories appear in the book, and the lasting impression they had. We also talk about why housing isn’t just a regional or provincial problem, it’s a national one that is uniquely Canadian.

ABOUT GREGOR CRAIGIE:
Gregor Craigie has been a journalist for more than 25 years at the BBC World Service, CBC Radio, CBS Radio and Public Radio International. He has hosted On The Island on CBC Radio One in Victoria, BC, since 2007. His first book, On Borrowed Time: North America’s Next Big Quake, was a finalist for both the Balsillie Prize for Public Policy and the City of Victoria Book Prize, and was a Globe and Mail Top 100 book in 2021. His first novel, Radio Jet Lag, was published in 2023.

ABOUT MEGAN COLE:
Megan Cole is the Executive Director for the BC and Yukon Book Prizes. She is also a writer based on the territory of the Tla'amin Nation. Megan writes creative nonfiction and has had essays published in Chatelaine, This Magazine, The Puritan, Untethered, and more. With a career marked by a dynamic musical identity, Marco has been gaining more and more space on the international scene, with formidable performances both inside and outside the continent.

Attracted to music from an early age, he found in DJing the perfect way to translate his personality, connecting people through sound.

Based on influences that border on timeless eras, and a keen sensitivity in reading the audience, what occurs are genuine atmospheres. From the impulsive energy of festivals to the intimate atmosphere of independent clubs.

Fresh from his first tour in Europe, his place in music has already lasted for more than a decade, occupying space mainly in the coastal region of Santa Catarina, where he resides in the shelter collective.

Over the years, he has been involved in several musical entertainment projects, being a key figure in the creation of sci phunk, a record label that has been gaining more and more notoriety in the scene and already has support from artists such as: Brasi, Dan Ghenacia, Occibel and Charonne.

Recognized for his charismatic presence, his career is currently going through an expansion phase, with debuts in South American countries planned for 2026.

Notable appearances have already been cataloged, such as the Dias de Campo Festival in Spain and clubs like Iboat in France, in addition to national giants like Surreal Park and Terraza, places where they share line-ups with artists such as Hicham, Gene on Earth, and Juaan.
