It's Over Now (Beach Boys/Brian Wilson instrumental cover)

This is the closing song from my album WE'RE GETTING CLOSER TO THE SUN. It's a stream of consciousness song about angels and cosmos interceding with our material world. It closes the album narrative, concluding that my astronaut ended up in a place where spiritual and physical merge into new and holy meanings. The verses reflect on the presence of angels in even the most mundane situations (walking on a street, in a hotel, recreational settings). Verse 3 points me towards spiritual activism and knowing I'm never alone in seeking justice and righteousness. Mike Roe of The 77s played lead guitar. Recording this track felt transformative for me. Musically I was inspired by old school Laurel Canyon bands, Brian Eno, many Mellotron bands, The Moody Blues, and The Beach Boys transcendental "American Gothic" phase circa 1966-73.

OneOTwo - Might Be True (Demo)

Welcome to Episode #146 of the Blue-in-Green:PODCAST which this week sees Imran connect with bassist, multi-instrumentalist and composer, Sunim Koria.

It's been four years since we last caught up with the indelibly talented Lutterworth-based artist for an excellent conversation revolving around his debut full-length release 'Ecstasy & The Apple Tree'.  A project that found its inspiration from the late-90s/early-00s broken beat soundscapes typified by luminaries including Deborah Jordan and Kaidi Tatham.  Sunim's latest release sees his music take a completely new direction with a scintillating big band-inspired project featuring seventeen musicians entitled 'Cantata'.  An incredible feat and passion project born of Sunim's vast-ranging ability and limitless talent.

We're incredibly grateful for Sunim's time which includes us revisiting 'Ecstasy & The Apple Tree' four years later, discussing the mechanics of putting 'Cantata' together, his affection for Brian Wilson and future musical projects.

Hi all, so from 2016 to 2024 I assembled and produced a large collection of covers of many of my favorite tunes as my own hobby (and many during COVID lock-downs!) and I have accumulated over 2,800,000 plays across the world which is awesome!

I am much more of a producer that a musician. These first 8 years of my music was mostly based on midi cover tracks often downloaded from the Internet but heavily reproduced and re-imagined variously on my two Yamaha keyboards (Clavinova and PSR 975), but also using PC midi editing & DAW software.

Towards the end of that period, I added some of my more original electronic music which I produced over the past two decades under the name of Funkleberry in order to consolidate my Soundcloud accounts. 

But in 2024 I got into AI music generation and I am now  a freelance sonwriter and AI music producer. It's been a fun journey!

Entertainer, songwriter, and “Singer at Large” Johnny J. Blair is known for his brand of “pop music with a twist,” influenced by Americana, British Invasion rock, old school soul/r’n’b, psychedelia, and punk/new wave, with melodicism breathed by classical, gospel, jazz, and world music. 

As a solo acoustic act or when fronting a band, Johnny engages an audience. He was called “a white James Brown” by Brown’s legendary drummer, Clyde Stubblefield. Johnny’s current itinerary includes performing in assisted living homes for people with disabilities and dementia: “Music goes through the brain into places where math and language don’t reach. It heals, and it makes a difference.”

Since the 80s, Johnny has issued full-length recordings to a global audience— from the “new wave concept album” DOOR IN THE WATER, to the soulful masterwork FIRE, to the bare-knuckled acoustic “agitpop” of TREADMARKS, to the “Ziggy Stardust meets PET SOUNDS” of GRATEFUL to the glam-tango tinged masterwork I LIKE THE STREET (with musical support from The Badlees, Eric Biondo/Beyondo, and Mike Garson, David Bowie’s pianist).

Johnny has worked with a range of acts—most prominently with Davy Jones of The Monkees (“I learned valuable stagecraft from David”). Johnny played and worked with Jones for 20 years, and he was the touring bassist/vocalist with The Monkees 45th Anniversary Tour of the UK and USA. Other artists Johnny has played with are John Bechdel (Ministry), David Cassidy, Buddy & Julie Miller, and Al Stewart (“Year of the Cat”). 

For 2019, Johnny on the beat with fresh material and a new album in the works, WE’RE GETTING CLOSER TO THE SUN. He says, “I’ve played the Royal Albert Hall, CBGB’s, Disney, The Fillmore, Las Vegas, Mabuhay Gardens, the Tokyo Billboard, holy temples in India, desert islands, Caribbean cruise ships, churches, prisons, garages, biker bars, and picnics, but I’ll really hit it big when I play for you!”

OneOTwo is a 15-year-old independent music producer from Pennsylvania who creates songs in various genres. He uploads his music on YouTube and he also distributes his music on RouteNote, Amuse, and Eclipse Music. He makes his music using FL Studio 21, Ableton Live 11 Lite, Serato DJ Pro & Virtual DJ and edits his videos by himself. (Sometimes with the Built-in FL Studio Video Maker) He is known for his experimental and diverse style of music.

I've been on YouTube since I was 6 creating over 20 (failed) channels

in 2019 I got an Akai MPK mini II, I remember searching up what software I needed to use, and the tutorial said FL Studio, which is how my use of FL Studio started.

in 2021 I saw a launchpad video and I remembered "Oh yeah I have a launchpad"
I grabbed my Launchpad and watched a tutorial, and it said to use Ableton Live 11 lite, I downloaded it and made 1 private Launchpad cover on my Channel, and then I started making music from that point there using Ableton up until January 2022 when I started using FL Studio, never looked back since.

Currently, I Release my music by myself, I'm trying to get signed to a good label "that won't sell my soul"
I usually post my work on my channel, and even if it gets 10 views, I'm going to keep practicing and grinding.
