These Rooms Aren't Real

"Indeed the back room is where the vibe is COOKIN"

This mix is my homage to the back room in house music nightclubs: that dark, sweaty, intimate space where the real house heads go, the lights stay low, the DJ guides you through deeper, more underground and experimental sounds, and the crowd connects over music the main room isn’t ready for yet. 

The first half eases you in with smooth, lounge-leaning deep house, the kind of grooves made for head-nodding at the bar, drink in hand. Then, halfway through, the heat kicks in. The bass takes over, the tracks get heavier, and you’re shoulder to shoulder on the floor, lost in a hypnotic groove to bass driven sweaty house until the early hours of the morning. 

For those who remember the era, and for those who wish they could have, this is for you.
