Title: PRAYER AND THE SPIRIT OF THE CROSS!

Scripture: Psalms 145:18; Ephesians 6:18
Psalms 145:18 The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.
Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Sermon Points:
01.	TIME
-	Job 14:5 Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;
-	Everything depends on patience and perseverance. Everything needs time.
-	A pastor’s highest calling is to pray!
-	The job of a pastor, I believe, is to share with his people what God has revealed to him.  This cannot be done without a prayer life.
02.	TAKING UP THE CROSS
-	Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
-	What Christ is teaching all his children is to carry their cross.  That means we must realize sin has sentenced us all to a physical death and our job, if we are to follow him, is to carry that sentence out to the end by a faithful, prayerful life of trusting Christ.
-	I Corinthians 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
-	Self-Denial is only brought about by meeting with our Savior a lot!
-	John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
-	Mark 8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
-	Mark 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
-	Philippians. 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
-	I Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
-	The fellowship of the cross is not only a holy duty for us, but an awesome privilege that the Holy Spirit will make ours according to this promise. 
-	John 16:14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
-	John 16:15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
03.	HUMILITY
-	Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
-	Let us have a Cross Spirit! One of humility, obedience, and self-sacrifice all found in prayer.

Title: THANK GOD FOR OUR CONTROLLED ENVIROMENT!

Scripture: Isaiah 41:10; Revelation 1:17; Genesis 8:22
Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Revelation 1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
Genesis 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Sermon Points:
01.	None of us know what it’s like to be someone else.
-	James 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
-	One thing we do know is that often the image is contradictory to reality.
-	Notice that Paul’s thorn in the flesh was a gift from God!
-	II Corinthians. 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
-	Jesus will put us in a place where there’s only room for Him.
-	Hebrews 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
02.	And just because you get hit does not mean it is the devil.
-	Look at what God has revealed to you about Himself that most folks on this planet will never know.
-	Matthew 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
03.	Jesus is always trying to get His love to us, even though He brings it in a way that often is not recognized by us.
-	John 13:7 Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
04.	It is God when good comes our way, and God when bad comes our way.
-	II Corinthians. 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
05.	If the devil does have access to anyone, God had to allow it.
-	Job 1:12 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
-	I am glad I live in a controlled environment
-	Genesis 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
-	We acknowledge His position without giving Him the credit for the power that comes with it!
-	Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

II Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
Genesis 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Sermon Points:
01.	Keith Bell is a gated Community.
02.	The victory is not Getting rid of Your Thorn!
-	Whatever our thorn is, is how God develops us and stop us from being too impressed with ourselves!
-	Adversity reminds us of what we really know about ourselves, that we are whine guts.
03.	It may be a gift from God to Control our Character.
-	But God is saying, “The attack is the victory.”
-	The real victory is us not running from the punches or from being buffeted by our father.
04.	Everybody in here tonight has something that is killing you while you are living!
-	To be used of God and to have real victory in our lives, we must go forward without our conditions being perfect.
-	We can’t wait for the blows to stop before we do something for God. We must go forward while taking the blows and giving the blows right back to our enemies.
