DETOURNEY is an Undertale AU based on and set in an alternate timeline of Escape from the Dark World in which the tournament never continued past WR2.

Lancer begins to have second thoughts about humoring the Lightners, and calls off the tournament. With no hope of them returning to their home worlds, they spread out across the Dark World and find a place to call their own. Barney has a premonition of what will happen if this imbalance between light and dark persists, and brings it upon himself to get the gang back together.

Lancer is the Asgore replacement. He’s very conflicted about letting Barney get to the fountain giving this Dark World its form. If Barney can seal the fountain, there’s no telling how long it’ll be until the next time this land reemerges, and there’s even less certainty that Lancer will meet any of his Lightner friends again...
