Melting Pott was founded in april 2008 by a small group of friends who were studying in Duisburg (Germany) and loved Reggae & Dancehall Music from visiting dances since the late the 90s.

The crew instantly started hosting dancehall events in Duisburg and inviting regional sounds from the Ruhrgebiet Area and beyond. Simultaneously Melting Pott was juggling on other dances in and around North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) and started to establish one's reputation fast. 

After a while, Melting Pott, which were constituted from Dancehall Washington (MC), Timac (Selector), Flo (Selector) and Lazy B. during that early period, had played alongside Germanys biggest Soundsystems in some of the hottest national Clubs. 

Through the years, the crew started to generate a larger audience by touring all over Germany and booking international top acts like Gentleman, Silly Walks, Pow Pow, Soundquake, Herbalize-It and many more. 

In 2015, Puerto Rigo (MC), joined the team in order to elaborate the Sound’s performances. 

Melting Pott plays a muti-variant authentic caribbean style and covers all kind of jamaican Music as well as adjacent genres like Hip-Hop Music, Afrobeats and Soca. With their regular dance called „Funky Kingston“ in Duisburg, the crew established one of the most frequented events regarding caribbean music in whole NRW.
