The baby boomers came,
Filled up with righteous claims,
Their parents died and fought the fascists just to save our souls,

When we were boys and girls, 
We all watched Tomorrow's World,
Aren't we supposed to travel in an airtight tube  by now?
Where have you taken us?
Why have no faith in us?
We're asking you for answers but you won't tell us how.

A generation lost,
We've paid the greater cost,
Financial crashes crush the masses as the planet suffers drought,
And if we stay the same,
We'll be the ones to blame,
But blame the parents they're the ones who sold us out.

They blame the immigrants,
We know that's just a front,
And this is how we know they would treat the rest of us,
It's not 1933,
It feels the same to me,
Financial crises that they make and simply blame some other ones.

There's fascists in our towns,
Just hold on tight and hope we make it through the other side,
There's lessons we won't learn,
While there's a quid to earn,
The hard-won freedoms that we're losing for which our grandparents died.

Doctor Sleep is the sequel to the Stephen King horror classic, The Shining, and is one of the better King movie adaptations that you probably heard was crap and so you didn’t see it. The truth is, it’s pretty darned good - if you watch the right version (ie, the theatrical cut or Mike Flanagan’s director’s cut). This is a rare occasion where the director’s cut is actually worth it, and not just a chance to see boobs.  But it also exists within the very long shadow cast by Stanley Kubrick’s original masterpiece, which Stephen King hates.  It is a complicated situation, is what we are saying. But watch Doctor Sleep and you will be rewarded, we promise.
