This chapter, read on the first day of Rosh Hashanah, has us face the question of the ambiguity of meaning that caused Hagar and Ishmael to be driven into the wilderness. On this day of judgement we are compelled to ask many questions about our lives and relationships and how we understand words and actions and the consequences of our interpretation. It pushes our sight beyond the moment for a broader view of history and family. Please join us.
