Well after nearly eight years I gotta part with Reason, since it won't run on Linux. I got Bitwig on a student discount, this is my first complete song. All the melodies and stuff were handwritten by me. About half of the sounds were presets and the other half I designed.

Took an old 8 bar loop I made in 2020. I liked the Arpeggio and thought I should built this out.  It took longer than I thought to add all the details ✨ .

Matthew Piecora, aka EZBOT, is a Seattle-based artist and educator, who specializes in hardware electronic music. I am composing dark electronic music in a variety of styles as my hobby. I feel my specialty is melancholic/dreamy electronics. 
End of 2019 I became more active after I started using #Bitwig Studio. So almost all the tracks you'll find here are from this era. The music is all done by myself - no AI used (not even for mixing & mastering). Let me know what you think and constructive criticism is very welcome too.

I like electronic music of all kinds (started with Depeche Mode in the 80s,  EBM in the 90s and FuturePop in the 00s, but also like Melodic Techno, Psytrance, Harsh Industrial, ...etc.).

I've started making music in the 80s on the Amiga 2000 with various trackers and used Jeskola Buzz on Windows for a brief period during the 90s.

I started playing around with digital music creation in my early twenties, but I have always been haunted by a quote from Theo Parrish who said that he is "not comfortable with convenience replacing artistry", meaning that you need to put effort into learning and mastering the skills in order to bring something good. I studied computer science and have a passion for logics and programming and somehow my lack of any musical background has kept me from publishing any of my works.

Many years later I got inspired by an interview with Thomas Fehlmann where he explained how the focus in his work is not on the result so much but on the process itself. How the process is a "source of expression" and something he just feels he has to do. This resonated with me and I realised that it's ok to be an autodidact in music and it's ok to make music just for the sake of making music. I make music for me and if you, dear listener, like it along the way I'm very happy about that.

I am inspired by nature, natural processes and the interaction we have with them. Organic asymmetric fractal patterns that are rooted in logic but unpredictable as they express. How a particular stormy night can affect the shape and growth of a plant for years to come.

I use Bitwig Studio to create my tracks.
