Following the success of their previous demo and electrifying performances across regional venues, Despised Mourning has captured the attention of heavy music aficionados with their distinctive blend of blackened deathcore. The EP promises an immersive journey into the band’s creative prowess and musical depth.

"Hail Nothingness" encapsulates Despised Mourning's evolution as artists, delivering a collection of 4 tracks (not counting the intro) that traverse emotive landscapes and showcase the band's signature sound. From anthemic choruses to furiously groove-based riffs, each track is a testament to the band's dedication to pushing musical boundaries while resonating with heavy music audiences worldwide.

"Our sound has shifted a lot into a more deathcore direction, but I don't consider that a bad thing. We can't wait to share these tracks with our fans and people who've yet to hear us," expressed Krystian Thorne (lead vocalist)

The EP release on March 22nd, 2024, is a significant milestone for Despised Mourning, marking a new chapter in their musical journey. Fans can expect a multifaceted experience that encapsulates the essence of Despised Mourning's unique sonic identity.

The real permeated with illusions

The unfathomably vast, deep caerulean embeddings stretching far beyond the mind's eyes reach. So the lulling shroud of ignorance descends covering the unimaginable. Drawing ever closer wrapping the beholder in its drapes. 

 As before, so within.

Nullified remain what’s left of the enclosing spectacle. Therein the understimulated  neurocircuitry, unable to identify the signal from noise, generates apparitions of the counterfeit. The insides spilling into the blank canvas of the outside, but nothing is revealed, everything remains undisclosed.

The boundary of reality and the imagination, like the veiled skyline.

The most beautiful mirages, picked from the ground. Preserved between the precious pages of memoirs of the past glory. While neglected, carry on shifting into the various and magnificent shades of autumn before falling to feed the maggots of amnesia.

From the soil, watered by the rainfall, the seeds sowed, sprout.

We watch as another twig, once bare, flourishes with robust clusters of creamy, petalled flowers. Soon, fruit appears, juicy and perfectly round, tempting to the touch. Then, as insidiously as they had arrived, the fruit starts to shrivel, darken, decompose. Undefined hours pass, punctuated only by the rhythmic rustling of the leaves as each one detaches and joins the others in the placid oblivity, enriching the ground from which it was moulded.

A story without beginning and without end, unfolding and refolding in the theater of cognition.

Formed by the real, yet permeated with illusions, it presents a filtered universe where nothing can be trusted, where concreteness cedes to abstraction. Amid the endless crafting and recrafting, truth and deception meld into an inseparable entity. The figures in the fading deck of treasured recollections transmogrify continuously from light to dark, shifting and mutating in accordance to the observer’s ever-changing perceptions and beliefs. What was once cherished becomes loathed, what was once vividly remembered sinks into the murky depths of amnesia.

The cyclical progression resumes, painting an infinite canvas of daily living etched in vibrant caerulean hues, marred only by dark blotches; the moments of pain and despair.

Turning their infantile faces towards the blinding sun, their roots entwining and knotting themselves with the undivable secrets beneath. Life, forcing its way through, triumphantly paving the landscape with the verdant hues, oblivious to the buried dreams that once thrummed with forsaken aspirations. Thereupon, the victories savoured, the defeats endured – enclosed in caskets of compelling oblivities, reverberating silently in the stillness. And life, in its cyclic enchantments, brilliantly weaves the shifting patterns of elusive realisations.

Sprawling tangled in the bewitching tapestry of conscious and unconscious existence.

Emotions as the sole compass guiding us from the alluring sirens of our apparitions, back to the unfathomably vast and deep caerulean embeddings stretching far beyond the reaches of the mind's eyes.

AOTB is a Swiss band on the border between djent and deathcore sprinkled with inspirations from various other styles. Composed of 5 determined members, the band offers tracks combining technicality, groove and power.

AOTB is founded in February 2016 in Delémont, around the drummer Thomas Lachat and the guitarist Lionel Gerber, quickly joined by the bassist Nil Flückiger, the guitarist Pablo Lagares and the singer Jean-Marc Kottelat. During the first 6 months, Lionel and Thomas soon put their hearts into the work by composing the first songs of the group, followed by Pablo who then brings his important contribution. The band sees its first line-up change in February 2017, following the arrival of Franck De Luca on vocals. The writing of the lyrics of several pieces then allows the quintet to perform on several stages in Switzerland; at the "Corn'Rock" festival in Cornaux, at "Zelig" in Lausanne, at the "SAS" in Delémont, at the "Societ'Halle" in Moutier, at the "Undersound" festival in Undervelier and at the "Festilab" festival in Corcelles (BE).

At the beginning of 2019, AOTB starts recording its first EP "Mass Brainwashing" at "Greglerouxprod" in Delémont. The four-track EP denounces in its lyrics the problems of society in general, such as war, the indoctrination of children in certain countries or animal violence. "Mass Brainwashing" is released to the general public on October 14, 2019 and is available on all streaming platforms.

Today, with a set of about 15 songs, the band is more than motivated to perform on stage and is now working on the next album.

AOTB est un groupe suisse se situant à la frontière du djent et du deathcore, parsemée d'inspirations de divers autres styles. Le groupe, composé de 5 membres déterminés, propose des morceaux alliant technicité, groove et puissance. Ainsi, tout est réuni pour faire ressortir l'esprit bestial de chacun.

"Mass Brainwashing" se dévoile au grand public le 14 octobre 2019 et est disponible sur toutes les plateformes de streaming.

Aujourd'hui, avec un set d'environ 15 morceaux, le groupe est plus que motivé à pouvoir se produire sur scène et de travailler sur un album plus conséquent.

Once you’ve opened your eyes, you’ll never be able to close them again. This is the fate of the Delusionist. Yet, despite the burden they placed on him, he remains unbroken. How much reality can you endure?

I, Delusionist is a five-piece deathcore band from Basel, Switzerland. Since the success of their first full length album “Catharsis” (2020) which features singers such as Ben Duerr (Shadow of Intent, Hollow Prophet) and Pascal Briccos (Frank Needs Help), the band is unrelenting in their endeavor to rid the world of deception. The EP released in 2021 describes the repercussions of human ignorance: “Downfall”.
