Atypical of me, my rendition is in the original key of D, using the drop D tuning. Vocal and guitar recorded live, one track and one take. This epic song packs a powerful punch!

A groggy cover of the first part of Mr Tambourine Man I sang one morning recently. It helped to wake up and sing that; I felt hopeful afterwards. For me, Mr Tambourine Man is the spirit in all of us that wants to hope and to create. Calling him over to me in my shabby little house in Dublin, like 'hey, sing me a song!', just felt so awakening. 

I like to communicate with things when I sing, with feelings or even the spirits of things, whether that of my own buried dreams or the spirits in the earth I like to imagine I glimpse whenever I walk in a wood or by a river. I think singing is meant to be a communication. More than just a performance or a show, it's a joining of hearts. Maybe that explains a little why I felt so energised after singing this.

Knockin' On Heaven's Door

I've been a Bob Dylan fan since before I could walk - my Dad played him constantly when I was growing up, in-between sporadic blasts of Cat Stevens, Gordon Lightfoot and Kate Bush... And Lay Lady Lay has always been one of my favourites.I had it in my mind to try covering a song using only cello and vocals as a sort of throw back to years ago when I made a whole album called "Girl and a Cello" in Denmark, using only my voice and sounds I could get out of a cello. So that's how this started, percussion tapped on the body of the cello, the guitar parts recreated as cello lines and vocals doing the rest. Then on a trip to Nashville recording with my band there I played it to them and they jammed along and it sounded so good I kept it on there..and suddenly I wanted it to be a big song a real thank you to Bob from me, so I developed those early cello lines with my friend and collaborator Sally Herbert until we had some big arrangements sweeping through the track. I really had a lot of fun putting this track together and I sincerely hope Bob approves..

Blooms brings her signature blend of smoky vocals and cheeky intimacy to Dylan’s well-worn lines, reshaping them into something looser, warmer, and tender. Half lullaby, half confession..and wholly her own.

Valentine’s Day, her self-declared favorite holiday, is when she gives songs or handmade cards to her loved ones. This cover is part of that ritual: more than just a reinterpretation, it’s a gesture - full of affection, mischief, and quietly radical joy.

Stylishly lo-fi and emotionally rich, this home recording lands somewhere between basement jazz and indie folk, with echoes of a Billie Holiday wink or Norah Jones shrug. A soul-soaked, unpolished reinterpretation that reminds us: sometimes the most personal songs leave the deepest mark.

I am a singer, not a musician. I sing and I record myself singing with my phone, so most of these tracks on here are of poor quality.
