Real Badman

After days of sailing under the open sky, we anchored in the middle of nowhere, near an island dotted with ruins—a glimpse of an old town resting quietly by the shore. We drifted in the warmth of late afternoon, surrounded by friends, both old and new, who felt like they had been part of our lives forever. It was that rare feeling when strangers quickly become family, each of us connected, sharing the joy of just being there.

While everyone else was laughing and swimming, I was in the cockpit, rolling a cigar, letting the music play and preparing myself for a refreshing swim. Sunlight sparkled off the water, and each note seemed to echo the beauty around us. I felt completely at ease, fully alive and grateful for every choice that led me to this moment.

This mixtape is my tribute to that unforgettable afternoon—where soulful rhythms filled the air, capturing the freedom of the sea, the warmth of friendship, and the magic of being truly present. Each track carries the breeze of that day, sunlit and blissful, and invites you to feel what I felt: freedom, joy, and deep gratitude for music, life, and the perfect company.

Radio 80000 is a non-commercial online radio from Munich and was founded in April 2015. It functions as a platform, promoting collaboration and cultural expression through music, dialogue and events throughout Germany. Currently more than 160 contributors regularly broadcast shows from Munich, Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt, Leipzig, Hamburg and Vienna.

At Radio 80000, established and emerging musicians, DJs and artists as well as music enthusiasts without any professional ambitions engage in what has become an intensive exchange – offering a unique selection of timeless and contemporary music, with quality always being the top priority.

Since its foundation, the radio has grown into a network that unites individuals, leading to new collaborations between artists, labels and institutions inter/nationally.

Since March 2022 our studio is located at the Zirka.Space in Munich.

DJ Emma is a DJ and producer.  She has a passion for the genres of funk, soul, disco and house. On this page you will find mixes and past radio shows from her time at Select Radio and also her new residency on Brighton Based Radio Station 1BTN. 
She is also a regular on her local BBC Radio Wiltshire where she curates specialist music shows and is also a Friday night resident DJ.
DJ Emma regularly DJ's around Bristol and London with gigs at The Thekla, Brixton Jamm, 93 Feet East, Spiritland and Hootenanny Brixton - she also DJ's at many of the UK festivals including Camp Bestival, Shindig, We Out Here, Wilderness and more.

The idea of Black Light Disco became a real thing when a few like-minded DJs and producers came together to put on a night showcasing the very best in disco, house and funk and everything in between. Our ethos is based around a very simple concept: GOOD MUSIC, GOOD TIMES with GOOD PEOPLE. We announced ourselves on a gorgeous sunny Saturday in June 2019 with an all day and night party in Liverpool’s thriving Baltic Triangle area. It was the start of something very special. 

We have a solid core group of musical talent residing in BLD Towers hailing from England, Scotland, Wales, Northen Ireland and Italy -  providing perfectly cooked grooves and juicy basslines. 

The BLD team comprises of Esteban, Goz (Spin City), Pookie Knights, Cole Kutz (Opentempo.fm) De Gama and Fingerman (Hot Digits) – clocking up decades of DJ’ing and dancefloor experience between us. As individuals, the BLD team have been producing consistently high quality sets over the last few years. Now, as a collective, the aim is to make Black Light Disco THE place to promote new music and to bring you the very best in established/up-and-coming artists and producers in the sunlit uplands of sonic pleasure. 

In January 2020, we launched a weekly show on THE biggest house music FM radio station in New York, MyHouseRadio.fm (also available digitally at www.myhouseradio.fm).  The Black Light Disco Show airs every Monday exclusive to MyHouse Radio between 7pm – 9pm GMT (2pm -4pm EST), bringing you the finest in disco, funk and boogie; all delivered by our expert in-house Sonic Consultants (resident DJs) with guest mixes from the hottest producers, DJs and artists out there right now.
