The 36-track compilation landing via @bpitch-control is split into three parts, each consisting of 12 cuts dedicated to the infamous We Are Not Alone event series and the best of underground techno talent.

For this instalment of the series, Allien collaborates with esteemed director and photographer Stini Roehrs for the multidisciplinary project 'AFTER DARK – Emotional States of Techno', consisting of a virtual rave film, book and exhibition produced by AKKURAT Studios, and the We Are Not Alone VA, which is to be released physically and digitally via BPitch.

Maxime Iko is a parisian and self made DJ and producer. Born in 1982, he was at first a passionate clubber, fascinated by music, hanging out in Paris clubs like Rex Club or Le Pulp. Passion for music soon became voracious and took over the rest. In 2008 he started mixing at the famous Paris club „Les Bains Douches“ with Dj Wild. Then producing in 2011 when he joined Steve Lawler’s label Viva Music with his first release „Voiture Pullman“. His music is influenced by his interest in cinematography, in gothic and gay culture. Pitched down vocals, atmospheric Synths, slapping claps & funked up basslines. Whatʼs most important to him in music is groove & sensuality. Maxime Iko initiated in 2011 the gay party „Cockorico“ at Rex Club, Paris with Stefan Beutter mixing techno and sexy people. In 2014, they created „Le Bal Con“ mixing all kinds of crowds dancing like crazy to the sound of electronic music and enjoying outrageous art performances happening on stage or through the audience. Maxime played with DJs like Ellen Allien, Miss Kittin, Vitalic, Oliver Huntemann, Gui Borrato, Marc Houle, Efdemin, John Talabot, Todd Terje, Marc Houle, Heartthrob, Troy Pierce… In 2012 Maxime started a new experience designing the sound dressing of Steffi Christiane’s fashion show in Paris. In 2015 he started a collaboration with french producer Markus Gibb (Lumber Noire) creating 3 EPs under the name IKO&GIBB on the label Tici Taci. He’s now joining Bpitch for an upcoming EP.

Nunu is a Berlin artist. Classical pianist. Doing some self-reflection on her compositions. Mostly improvised. Unknown to her from before. She likes to play with her eyes closed. She draws lines when she plays like one paints, or else said, she goes with the flow. Following her heart. Instant insight. Eyeblink. Feel. Feel with the flow. In slow motion. Then Grow. Future past tense. Vision.  And a Break. Then again flow. Over and over again. Feels like a never-ending story. Feels eternal. Deeply touched. Deep from beyond.

Alexa began her musical journey at the age of 8 as violinist and a self-taught guitarist at the age of 15. After many years of involvement in Montreal’s Psytrance scene, her journey towards techno began when she started collecting tracks during her time in nursing school.

Her trademark; high energy, spikes of 90’s techno. Alexa’s style is born deep in the crate where she digs up her Belgian/Polish roots and many travels. From enigmatic, Berlin-ready character to the inclusion of nineties breakbeat and trance samples that validate the contemporary relevance of early electronic music. She invites an audience participation, offering elements of nostalgia, aggression, love and release in an expression of resilience.

Since 2016 Having played Illusion Festival, the SATosphere, Salon Daomé and Piknic Elektronic, Montreal’s techno scene is familiar with Alexa’s sound. In 2019 she played along acts Stephanie Sykes and VTSS in self-produced events at Le Livart & Entrepôts Dominion.

She presently works with the latest Ableton production methods to create a clearly distinct vibration in her tracks with additives from diversity of pure techno as opposed to a singular genre. 

She has been consistently releasing music since 2020 starting with her single “La Morte D’Alex on MFC Records’ VA compilation. Her debut 2 track EP “Lust For life & Diamond Of the Day” released in 2021 on Oxytech Records. Her first release of 2022 is a 4 track EP “Under the Temple” debuting on Belgian techno label Coincidence Records.

In her young techno career, her tracks have earned support from Volvox, Nene H, ONYVAA, Dj Ogi and Amelie Lens to name a few

With her found knowledge of production and passion for music, she doesn’t plan to stop releasing more EPs, stay tuned and make sure to wear proper kicks.
