August's Supermoon is a rare happening, and the moon will appear bigger than usual. In line with this unique event, the 49th episode of Selene Series is certainly unusual and brings the least "Selene" sounds up to date. One thing for sure: it is surely psychedelic, experimental and breaky. Here is a personal note for context: 

"During Perpendicular 2024 I was sharing a conversation with one of the artists playing at the festival, and he mentioned that he had been listening to some Japanese Footwork and Juke and he wanted to play some during his set. His performance, closing the festival, was an absolute rollercoaster of breaks, with some of the most innovative and mind bending sounds I heard in a while. This 'Japanese footwork and juke' comment got stuck in my head, and sent me into a rabbit hole of researching and digging some music, all starting with just those words. After some months of collecting some music, I finally decided to put a mix together, quite spontaneously, using those sounds. These impossible drum patterns and breaks are challenging to grasp sometimes, not to mention to mix them, resulting in a chaotic whirlwind sometimes. But I personally enjoy seeing the result of pulling the strings out of such a small clue like what that artist shared, and materializing in one of the weirdest mixes I add to this channel." 

People who show you new music are important. 

This mix goes from 130 or so breaks to 160 footwork and juke territory, and features very heavily (although not exclusively) artists from Japan. Impossible drum patterns, otherworldly synth lines and alien grooves on this one.
