Bitcoin’s Taproot update paved the way for a new & exciting era for Bitcoin, as it expanded its use case far beyond that of an immutable ledger. However, Ordinals, BRC-20 tokens and, more recently, Runes, have limited functionality compared to what DeFi is capable of, on other smart contract blockchains. BitcoinOS envisions a revolutionary Bitcoin economy that stems from truly programmable tokens, unlocking staking, governance and many other use cases. Using BitSNARK and Grail, BitcoinOS enables Bitcoin “rollups”, which act as execution environments that use BTC as gas fee and inherit security from the L1. The missing link was always a trustless bridge between Bitcoin L1 and any potential L2. And Grail Bridge achieved just that - using zero knowledge cryptography, BTC could be transferred to other chains without relying on other custodians’ trust assumptions. In that sense, Bitcoin block #853626 is historically meaningful as it contains the first-ever onchain verification of a zero knowledge proof, on Bitcoin. A truly programmable smart contract operating system on Bitcoin was no longer a mere concept…it became a reality through BitcoinOS.

#576 Edan Yago: Bitcoin OS – Bitcoin Block 853626 Changed Everything!

Polynomials are quintessential in machine learning for establishing relationships between outputs and inputs. However, there is also a field in cryptography which could not be made possible without polynomials - zero-knowledge technology. In zero-knowledge proof systems, computations are often represented as arithmetic circuits, and these circuits are translated into polynomials. This process is crucial for generating proofs that can demonstrate the correctness of computations without revealing the underlying data. The involved complexity explains the massive adoption hurdle for zk rollups compared to optimistic ones. Succinct aims to simplify the use of zero-knowledge proofs by providing a zkVM (SP1) that allows code written in languages like Rust to be proven in a privacy-preserving way. By doing so, it aims to lower the barrier to implementing zk-rollups and increase their adoption.

The Whisper Between Us (feat. KAT)

“Concrete Psalm” is a New York City hymn about small mercies and hard-won belonging. It follows one night beneath a bridge: shared bread, steam off the grates, a piano rolled into the rain, strangers forming a choir. Arrangement: upright piano, nylon guitar, floor-tom heartbeat, handclaps, and a modest vocal crew. The hook is simple on purpose: teach my heart to move like your streets. May it meet you on your way home.

Concrete Psalm

A lifelong oath on a small bridge, carried through marriages, children, layoffs, phone calls, and floods—and kept. “Bridge of Promises” tells the story of two childhood friends who carved their initials into a railing and never let the word slip. Decades later, they meet again where the creek still moves and the paint runs thick; a coin’s thin edge coaxes their letters back to light. May it find anyone who has stood by a small true word and watched it outlast the years.

“Name This Hunger” is a quiet, human anthem about learning meaning through kindness. A warm baritone tells the story with fingerpicked acoustic guitar, pump-organ undertones, brushed snare, and bowed metal swells. The imagery is tactile—bowl, spoon, bridge, river—grounding a chorus built to be sung together. For night drives, small rooms, and anyone who needs a gentle word that still carries weight.

This recording captures memories of the ferry crossings over the River Tay from Fife to Dundee before the Tay Road Bridge opened in 1966.
Ferries have plied the Tay for hundreds of years. In this area there were four main services: Balmerino, Woodhaven, Seamills (Newport) to Dundee, and Ferryport-on-Craig (Tayport) to Broughty Ferry. Competition was fierce, especially between Woodhaven and Seamills, and early ferries were unsafe, irregular, and overcrowded.
After a tragic accident in 1815 claiming 18 lives, regulation and improvements followed. The Tay Ferry Trustees took over in 1819, reducing the number of boats, selecting reliable crews, introducing tickets, and establishing regular sailings.
The introduction of the steamship Union in 1821 transformed the service. By 1822, Newport became the primary crossing point, and new piers designed by Thomas Telford and Robert Stevenson in 1823 improved safety and efficiency.
The final ferry crossing took place on 18 August 1966, shortly after the Tay Road Bridge was opened by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. The Scotscraig carried some 200 passengers on the historic last trip, marking the end of an era fondly remembered by locals.

Our Sonic Museum project will build an audio collection highlighting the cultural, human, and natural wealth, history, and diversity of communities across North East Fife and the East Neuk – a digital storehouse of land, sea and people stories. The Sonic Museum will allow collaborations with heritage, community groups and arts organisations, encourage community involvement, and allow people to learn new skills, produce podcasts, write, perform and explore their creativity.

Recent funding from the Community Learning and Development Device Fund managed by SCVO has led the charity to develop a new initiative called The Sonic Museum. A field recording lending resource (comprising 12 professional digital field recording kits) allows communities to explore the impact of sound on our lives, capture memories, nature soundscapes, songs and sonic postcards. Four pilots are underway with the Youth Ambassadors affiliated with Balmerino, Gauldry, Kilmany and Logie Community Council, St Andrews Heritage Museum and Garden, and volunteers from Kilmany Parish Hall in the remote village of Rathillet and the Hamlet of Collessie. 

We have also started a collaboration with the Fife Writes Charity, a peer support group for published and unpublished writers. This new collaboration will further enhance the Sonic Museum's content, allowing members to record spoken word, short stories, poetry, and audio plays that bring landscape, history, and heritage to life.

CYBER CHORD writes songs the way a porch light holds a night: small, steady, and impossible to ignore. I work with AI as a true co-writer, then carve the lyric by hand and shape the track in Suno. The sound leans bare and human—country roots in the soil, a little rock grain in the teeth, and a faith-lit lift that chooses hope without preaching.

These are ordinary-room hymns: rings hidden in cotton, receipt-tape strings, a dress behind rain glass, a sink that cools while you find the words. Silence is an instrument here; sometimes there’s a full bar where the house gets to breathe. If a line can’t survive a campfire and a cracked mug, it doesn’t make the song.

If you’re new, start with the heartbreakers. They don’t shout. They stay. I believe in the holiness of the everyday, and in the quiet bravery of saying the thing before “later” takes it away.
