There's an original Cleo chase after you pass by Renchanting, where they set the Scarlet Forest on fire. Well, it's a more local fire, but nonetheless. After the chase ends, you'll have to navigate the rather dangerous burning forest, where embers and sparks emerge from the flames and can potentially damage you.

This, obviously, is conceptually based off of Angel Island Zone Act 2 (and late Act 1) from Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and serves as the "Act 2" variation of the Scarlet Forest.
