Commissioned by St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Bury St Edmunds.

Created for the 1000th anniversary of the ancient Abbey of St Edmund in 2020. 

The work recreated the story of the abbey from its legendary foundation in 1020 until its dissolution in 1539. To create the script we worked with the Cathedral archives and the historian, Dr. Francis Young. The script and images were sourced from contemporary documents. These included chancery rolls from the National Archive and extracts from the Chronicle of Jocelyn de Brakelond – a monk at the abbey who gives us a rare and surprising insight into life at a monastery in the middle ages. 
The voices were provided by academics and actors.

For You is not just a collection of songs, but a journey – through collapsing memories, through night and day locked in eternal battle, through time itself, cutting like a holy blade. It is an album made for anyone who longs to hear the echo of their own emotions in sound and verse.

Commissioned by Christ Church Christiana Hundred, Wilmington, DE, Bruce Barber, Conductor, Who Has Made This World is given in loving memory of David Lockart by his family and friends. The text is an adaptation by the composer of Job 12: 7–10. The recording is from a live performance by Christ Church at York Minster Cathedral in York, England.
David was a dear friend who also studied composition with me and sang with Christ Church. I was deeply moved and honored to compose this work in his memory. I wrote the tenor line with David's beautiful voice in mind and smile to imagine him singing along with this wonderful ensemble.
