Why I Wrote Black Vapor

"Black Vapor" is more than a song—it’s a message wrapped in rhythm, a warning disguised as a vibe, and a coded call to awareness. I wrote this song because I see the signs, the shifts, and the quiet moves being made to erase, control, and suppress people like me—people who live at every intersection of oppression.

I am a minority in America under Trump’s leadership—disabled, LGBT, a woman, and Black. I embody every group that has historically been targeted, ignored, and silenced.

This song was inspired by The King Alfred Plan (declassified) and Rex 84, two real or hypothetical (since we're never told the truth, we'll never know). + ok Google government strategies designed for “contingency planning” against minorities—plans that lay the groundwork for control, surveillance, and even mass removal. 

I asked for help writing this song because I needed a collaborator who could break down the message while keeping the music alive. This isn’t just about dropping knowledge—it’s about making people feel the weight of what’s happening without preaching to them. It’s about waking people up through the rhythm they already move to, through the bass they already ride to.

"Black Vapor" is a metaphor—a way to paint the picture without saying the words outright. Is the fog or smoke in the sky just another storm, or is it something more? Is the air getting thick from pollution only? 

This song is for the people who don’t see it yet, the ones who feel something is off but can’t name it. It’s for the ones who know but don’t know how to say it. It’s coded, it’s layered, it’s meant to be heard in the club, in the car, in the streets—and felt deep in the soul.
