Alright, so this has a bit of history to it. I've owned Celeste for almost four years now, and it has become one of my favourite games of all time. The controls, gameplay, graphics, characters, OST; I could go on. Now more than ever, I can relate to Madeline's struggles with anxiety and depression (what I continue to go through day by day), even some relations to her being transgender with my more feminine traits. These topics I wish were more represented in video game media, yet am glad to see it portrayed with such care and personality to it. So about two years ago, I produced a remix of my favourite track 'First Steps.' In retrospect, it's probably the first track I've produced that I have felt proud of; like "yeah, I made this." Obviously, I've grown and matured as a producer, and can see it's not the greatest thing in the world. Yet it still felt raw and unique to my own, and I will always cherish what was created. So about almost two months ago, I thought about re-doing the remix in my newer style, upping the production quality and making the track feel more special. That meant first fleshing out the structure of the track. I liked what I did in my first remix, yet the structure felt somewhat rigid in execution. So for the beginning and end, I modulated the tempo so that they gave the track a unique feel (with the ending becoming more bittersweet). Next was the overall sound design, which I transitioned to my more space-esque production (need a better name for that lol). With the lead, up until about two weeks before this release, I kept the original's lead because I thought it blended well here; then I relistened to the OG track and wanted to sorta recreate that lead (but differentiate with the execution). Here, its more in awe, with the porta legato on serum present so that the lead had some motion to each note played. Overall, I really love what I produced here. As well as being an evolution to the remix from two years prior, it feels different enough to the original by Lena Raine that I can call it my own. Specifically with this and my remix of Wii Bowling Intro, the identity with my music is becoming a lot stronger, and its evident in how I'm reimagining tracks such as these. In general, First Steps and Celeste as a whole will always hold a place in my heart, and I hope y'all will find some enjoyment in my remix. And please play Celeste, it is amazing trust me! Happy 6th anniversary Celeste...

Hi, I'm Metris. I sort of got into music back in 2019 with mashups here and there, but truly began my music production journey in April 2020 with a demo of FL Studio 20. After a little under a year and a half of experimentation and messing around with the software, I officially released my first single 'Lost & Found' back in September 2021. Since, I have released three EPs ('Existential Nostalgia,' 'Sleepless Horizons,' and 'Motionless Ecstasy'), and I'm am looking to release  my most ambitious EP yet this winter. The music I produce combines EDM elements with ethereal, nature-esque sound design, the genre falling under 'Chill'. It allows a lot of freedom on my end to produce music with a greater purpose, yet still homing in on the adrenaline-pounding elements EDM is known for.  As I continue to progress as a music producer, I look to develop my work in more nuanced ways via mature and personal thematic elements in each track. the best part of making a song is making the song that you want to make, so I want to represent myself the best way I can; through the art of music.
