Swordplay club in Northampton creates community through ancient weaponry
Twice weekly, First Churches of Northampton is filled with the sounds of clanging swords.

The swords come out and the heartbeats cheer.
With sabers and rapiers, longswords in hand,
The clash of the blades makes a joyful band.

Ken Mondschein leads with a historian's grace,

He teaches the art where the brave ones fit.

A singer of darkness, a heart made of cold.

I carry the secrets the graveyard keeps.

Experiments twisted, but never the same.

I summon the night from a place afar.

The echoes of sorrow that rot and decay.
A ballad of shadows, a hymn to the dead,
The roses turn black where my footsteps have bled.
