As you may know, Make Friends Radio is our love letter to Sacramento and all of the extremely talented people that live within it. We set out on a mission to celebrate the people that make this city so special. We strive to connect the city with those that are responsible for the food, art, entertainment and music scene and give those individuals a chance to tell their story.In our return episode we are switching it up a little and separating the interviews and DJ mixes in an effort to let each people shine.

In this Episode I was joined by the highly influential Justin Nordan, whose involvement in the Sacramento music scene is arguably unparalleled. Over the years he has worked with Concerts In The Park, Launch, Sol Blume, Goldfields, Ace Of Spades and Good Luck Lounge just to name a few. We talked about Sacramento love, local bands and favorite DJs. It was a highly enjoyable conversation from my perspective and I hope you feel the same!

You see, after twenty years of cleaning up after film students, they’ve learned something – most movies are garbage.

So whenever their lunch breaks align, they catch up on the latest Hollywood has to offer.

In between taking out the trash, they’re talking trash.

Alex Kolbe (MDNGHT) is an American DJ from Wareham, Massachusetts.  Raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, then relocating to Northern California, he developed strong working relationships with fellow DJs & producers, subsequently resulting in numerous collaborations and frequently touring together throughout the west coast & beyond.
 
Music Career:
(2019-Present)
 
Alex is completely self-taught. In the beginning, he created tech house and electronic music samples/demos on Logic Pro. Later on, he started producing his own bass house songs, as well as, collaborating with other producers. He swiftly gained recognition from his bass-driven remixes of popular EDM & top 40 songs. In Summer 2021, he was featured at the We Are One Festival in Sacramento, which was his debut festival performance. He has regularly toured and collaborated with fellow DJs and producers, with whom he thanks for his continued success.
 
MDNGHT blends his seditious passion for classic house with an acquired west coast flare. His goal is to positively impact people through the power of music and find a common ground to connect & bring people together.
 
The high energy brought to his events transcends genre and preconceived notions of what a scene should be. Previous shows in Atlantic City, Denver, Fresno, Humboldt, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Reno, Sacramento, San Francisco, and Tahoe have laid down a foundation that allows him to transport current show attendees to a halcyon and authentic musical experience.
