Canadian-born, Miami-based PRIMO is an artist on the rise. Last year’s Afro-house anthem, “Mami Colombiana”, kicked things off before two huge collaborations with BADDIES ONLY (now thankfully renamed JOHN ELLE) pushed his silky Reggaeton vocals into overdrive. “No Te Voy A Mentir” follows up his earlier colllab with Kevin McKay, “Freaky”, and continues their vocal-charged Afro. Pitched somewhere between the deeper guitar-based groove of Maz (Br) and the tougher tones of RBOR (with a touch of Buscando Money), this is a dancefloor-friendly Afro house that will work in more chilled musical settings, too. Superb.

Doozie is a name that might not be that familiar to European audiences. Back home in Brazil, it's a different matter. Regularly featuring on line-ups with the likes of Vintage Culture and appearing at the huge Brazilian versions of Tomorrowland and Ultra. His productions cut a similar melodic, feel-good path as Vintage Culture - his 2025 version of "Sinnerman" is a favourite of ours. Here, he teams up with Kevin McKay for a super DJ-friendly deep house workout. I produced this song back when I was in college in 2017-18. I was inspired when Oliver Heldens created his alter ego HI-LO back around 2015ish but his use of unique rhythm and synths really captivated something within me to make a completely 'no fucks given' EDM song and this was something I made. I remember bringing this to my tutor and he was completely lost for words at the time, but gave me some great pointers for mixing the song. I don't really know if the mix is any good, but I thought, rather than letting it rot like 1000s of other songs I have on my computer.. I'll just drop it. I hope you enjoy a blast from the past :)

Glasgow Underground was set up in 1997 by Kevin McKay. He began the label releasing his own music and collaborations with friends and other Glasgow-based artists (Omid 16b, Studio Blue, DJ Q, Harri). Through his DJing and work for various music magazines (Muzik, Jockey Slut, Mixmag Update) he met some of his favourite producers of the time (Romanthony, Mateo & Matos, Idjut Boys...) and convinced some of them to join him releasing on GU. In the early 2000s, Kevin met Mylo and set up the Breastfed record label. The global success of "Destroy Rock & Roll" meant Glasgow Underground was put on hold. After leaving the Breastfed label in 2011, Kevin re-started Glasgow Underground and since then the label has gone on to re-invigorate Romanthony's catalogue with remixes from the likes of Dixon, MCDE, Gerd, Andres, Oliver Dollar, Ejeca, Audiojack, Claptone, Christian Nielsen, Supernova, Jimmy Edgar and Waifs & Strays. The label has also introduced producers like Daniel Trim, Brett Gould, Mia Dora and Illyus & Barrientos as well has releasing established & rising stars such as Metodi Hristov, Stefano Ritteri and Sabb.
