Was können Apotheken für Menschen mit Diabetes leisten? Weit mehr, als viele denken! In dieser Folge des Diabetes-Anker-Podcasts spricht Host Nicole Finkenauer mit Apotheker Manfred Krüger über eine sinnvolle Zusammenarbeit von Arztpraxen und Apotheken, warum das für die Versorgung so wichtig ist und wo es im Alltag hakt. Krüger führte viele Jahre zwei Apotheken in Krefeld und ist Mitglied in der Kommission „Apotheker in der Diabetologie (BAK/DDG)“ der Deutschen Diabetes Gesellschaft (DDG). 

Krüger erklärt anschaulich, wie Medikationsberatung funktioniert: Alle eingenommenen Mittel, inklusive frei verkäuflicher Präparate, werden gemeinsam gecheckt, Wechselwirkungen erkannt und der Medikationsplan aufgeräumt. So lassen sich Nebenwirkungen vermeiden, Doppelverordnungen reduzieren und die Therapie sicherer machen. Auch digitale Lösungen kommen zur Sprache: elektronische Patientenakte und E‑Rezept können Kommunikation erleichtern und Fehlerquoten senken – vorausgesetzt, sie werden konsequent genutzt.

Einen Einblick gibt es zudem in Ursachen aktueller Lieferengpässe (von GLP‑1‑Rezeptoragonisten bis Insulin) und was Apotheken täglich tun, um Versorgungslücken zu schließen. Weitere Themen: Fortbildungen für Apothekenteams in der Diabetologie, partizipative Entscheidungen auf Augenhöhe, Unterstützung für Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund – und Krügers Engagement für den Verein NETZ in Bangladesch.
