This project captures the raw emotion of heartbreak, betrayal, healing, and everything in between. I didn’t set out to make a breakup album — it just happened. These songs came from real pain, real love, and real lessons.

It’s petty. It’s poetic. It’s tragic and funny at the same time.

Kehlani - Folded Confessions (WASEEL BLEND)

Several movements of the work begin or end with verses from the first chapter of Ecclesiastes that act as sober commentary on the nature of life and death and serve as a musical throughline throughout the work. The verse that follows the first movement further emphasizes the ancient, eternal nature of the soul, stating, “It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time.” The presentation of a single idea in the context of two different ancient faith traditions— Hinduism and Judaism— demonstrates its timelessness and universality.

The bulk of the second movement, drawn from Confessions by Saint Augustine, captures a personal meditation on the origin of life, the nature of living, and the significance of death. Augustine pleads with the Judeo-Christian God to explain what precedes consciousness, questioning whether life itself is a form of dying or if death is merely a transition from an unknown past. As if addressing Augustine’s plea or echoing his own conclusion, the movement ends with a verse from Ecclesiastes: “No one remembers the former generations, and even those yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow them.”

The sounds of this juicefull track were collected during Conscious Play Fest 2025, inviting the gathered creatures to sound their experiences, ideas, confessions and dreams.

This lecture discusses key ideas from the early medieval philosopher and theologian, Augustine of Hippo's work, The Confessions.

It focuses specifically on his discussion of his friend Alypius in book 8, who was from Augustine's home town of Thagaste, attended Augustine's lectures, where he heard Augustine touch upon a moral failing of his, namely his strong interest in the circus spectacles. Alypius would along with Augustine make progress towards an eventual conversion to Christianity, and is there in the garden when Augustine has his famous experience when struggling with committing himself.
