The Valley Cried For Her

The fog rose slow... like heaven exhaled...
And the world stood still for her.

The fog creeps in as night steals the day,
And morning breaks with earth in dismay.
The dew lays quiet like a final prayer,
And the sun lifts up what’s no longer there.

No thunder cracked, no warning came,
Just silence deep as a mother’s name.
Yet flowers bloom where she once would be—
A breath, a hush, then eternity.

The valley cried for her, the mountains bowed low,
The rivers wept fast, the fountains did slow.
 From forest to field, the mourning wind blows,
For the one who gave life, then quietly let go.

Her soul took flight where the wild winds roam,
Now nature kneels where she made her home…

The trees stood tall in their Sunday best,
Guardin’ her grace as she lay to rest.
The daffodils danced like they somehow knew
That the heart of the earth had broken in two.

The trumpets cried down from mountain heights,
As shadows fell on city lights.
And rain fell soft on roofs and stone,
A lullaby sung from heaven’s throne.

Time don’t pity the ones we lose,
But the stars still shine with the love they used.
Her casket weathers, the years drift on —
But her touch remains where the wind is drawn.

The valley cried for her, the sky turned gray,
The robins hushed, and the children prayed.
She walks with the rain, in the mist she hides,
But her love still blooms when the spring arrives.

Her soul took flight where no man can roam,
She don’t need wings — the earth is her home.

Beyond the fog, she lives in the trees...
And whispers soft through the willow leaves.
