a song from my childhood, from what I consider to be one of the most underrated soundtracks from an animated film. they don't often make songs for children's films like this anymore. a song that celebrates life and death and mortality which so many of us struggle with from all walks of life and yet is a shared experience for every person. i wish more kids' films tackled life and love, death and letting go so softly as Charlotte's Web. what a comfort.

i sang this freestyle because i found following the timing with the original song a little difficult (aka I ran out of breath too often lol) debbie reynolds was the perfect charlotte. i can't imagine anyone else.

one of our kittens recently passed after a storm and i sang this song to them. they purred and left peacefully. i'd like to think they understood what the song meant. i'm going to miss him and his funny ways.
