Traketeo is a monthly radio residency show hosted by ATALAYA (they/them) featuring reggaetón, neoperreo and latinx club music created around the world. The show is on every second Saturday of every month 6:00PM-7:00PM. For this special Cumbia episode, ATALAYA is joined by star DJ Piti Vaccari to bring a you an hour of Cumbia sounds from various countries in Abya Yala, as well as Cumbia-infused tracks that blend in other genres like Pop, Reggaetón and RKT. Piti is the resident DJ of Collective Fiesta Wacha, based in Barcelona and touring around Spain and Europe.
Piti Vaccari (ARG) started her DJ career in Rio de Janeiro, where she incorporated new latin rhythms like digital cumbia, reggaetón, Caribbean Dembow and RKT to the Brazilian music scene.
Her sets conjugate current urban music with afrolatin hits, taking her audiences on a journey across the world without having to leave the dance floor.
Through Fiesta Wacha, Piti and her collaborators are bringing hugely exciting musical proposals to clubs and street parties in European cities like Valencia, Madrid, Paris, Berlin and London, amongst many others.

In this show we also featured the talented Yeguachita as our Fuegote Spotlight artist (star eyes) with their powerful  track Oiga Mamá that will also feature in their new EP coming out this summer. Keep your eyes peeled!
Oiga Mamá is a self-produced track speaks on the pain felt as a result of historical trauma and systemic violence of colonialism in Abya Yala. In this track, Yeguachita hails to mother Earth and explains the importance of understanding the history and oppressing forces of our colonialist-capitalist society, of using the experience of violence as a tool for liberation as opposed to subjugation, in order to heal and protect the future of indigenous identities.

atalaya's musical journey is primarily influenced by the cultural and musical richness of their upbringing in the north west regions of spain and the uk, reminiscing their experiences of growing up as an urban dancer, voguer and club lover. 

thjey host a bimonthly residence at CROP radio, an online station that has rapidly established itself as a platform for manchester-based talent. in their show, club atalaya, they showcase a changing selection of their favourite club sounds and engage in conversation with other local and upcoming djs. 

in their latest endeavour as host and creator of monthly show traketeo on Steam Radio, they created a local platform for fem, trans and queer artists making and mixing reggaetón and latin club - thereby platforming a variety of upcoming and established sounds in the Abya Yala diaspora and at a global scale.
