a collection of things that i've never posted before + musical oddities i made a while ago and re-found.
to those who read my descriptions;
i'm very sorry for dissapearing without any explanation, i planned on retiring kisaki mercury entirely by the end of this year, but i will honestly admit i've had one of the worst years of my life so far. lots of loss, struggle to find myself, struggle to do any of my hobbies, and ultimately closing out this chapter of my life come the new year. through all the hardship i've kinda realized i don't have anything as close to me as my music, and seeing how people can still enjoy things that i put out despite being completely burnt out i've come to the realization that retiring this might not be the right call. so many of you have been so kind to me, and all of my achievements as an artist have been as kisaki, so once i give it some thought i'll know how to proceed, but just know that i've decided that i can't quite count out kisaki yet. the point of this 'bootleg' or whatever is to liberate some of the random projects i've made over the last few years, whether it be unreleased kisaki stuff, or songs that once were exclusive to a past relationship, or the odd time i decide to try and do something semi-original (like 2 times ever), i'm at a stage where i have to move forward in some capacity. as of right now the worst is over, and i'll be going to see someone very important to me within about a month from now, so if you stick with me for a little longer i will give an answer to you all, once i find the answers i seek myself. thank you always for enjoying the music i make, and keeping me in mind from time to time. love you all so much :)

What does Indigenous housing look like? Are there special forms of housing needed by Indigenous communities in particular to address specific health and community needs? And what kind of housing can be built when Indigenous people in charge of the plans? In this episode, we try to address each of these questions.

First we speak to Maggie Low, assistant professor at the School of Regional Planning at the University of British Columbia. She's been studying how municipal governments respond to Indigenous housing needs.

Next, we speak to Alexandra Flynn, associate professor at the Peter A. Allard School of Law, UBC, about Indigenous zoning and housing developments in Metro Vancouver.

Finally, we speak with Bailey Waukey, a youth policy analyst with the Aboriginal Housing Management Association, about the different housing models Indigenous youth have asked for themselves through a special engagement process.

I'm a Canadian singer-songwriter rooted in classic country, with strong threads of folk, blues, and rock weaving through my sound. Though I play acoustic and electric guitar, my heart has always belonged to the keys—piano and synths are my mainstays. I draw inspiration from legends like Hank Williams Sr., John Prine, Lyle Lovett, and Stompin’ Tom Connors (yep, I went there!). My songs reflect the stories of a life lived across Montreal, Calgary, Texas, and beyond—tales of music halls, prairie skies, radio booths, and the open sea.

After years in radio broadcasting, where I interviewed everyone from Roy Acuff to Garth Brooks, I turned inward to focus on my own music. I’ve since released a growing collection of original songs that blend heartfelt storytelling with a sense of humor and a dash of wanderlust—fueled by over 30 cruises and travels spanning the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia. These days, I livestream music and birdwatching sessions from the edge of Fish Creek Park in Calgary, often joined by my guitar, parrot Paco, and a sunrise chorus of feathered friends.

Whether it's quirky travel tunes, love songs written in the stars, or memories wrapped in melodies, I’m here to share the songs that got me through—and maybe help someone else find their rhythm too.
