$600 Billion spent for National Covid Strategy Results:
1 - Reduced medical services
2 - Increased administrative costs
3 - No new hospitals built
4 - No formalization of high capacity triage/treatment centers
5 - No upgrades of elder protection in home/care facilities
6 - No national program for health to mitigate flu impact
7 - No national hiring program to insure we have adequate staff

8 - Annual mortality rates have not changed
9 - The Vaccine has not been tracked for health purpose

Here we are on our second of four picks with our One Hit Wonders series, looking at artists and albums that were One Hit Wonders - loosely meaning that the album had one or so big singles, then we likely never really heard from the band again. 

I’ve always liked the song You Get What You Give by New Radicals, bought the album when it came out, but don’t remember listening to it beyond the single, and have been listening to that single a lot recently. Then the Foo Fighters announced Josh Freese as their new drummer in May 2023, and while reading about him, I noticed he drummed on two songs from Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too by New Radicals, and decided to make this my pick for the month. - Scott Coates

The BC Lions vs Calgary Stampeders, also known as UEL or CFL EL, is an annual tournament organized by the Union of European Football Associations (CFL) since 1971. This prestigious event brings together eligible European football clubs in an exhilarating competition. Positioned as the second-tier tournament in European club football, it holds a significant place between the highly acclaimed CFL Champions League and the BC Lions vs Calgary Stampeders.

Originally introduced as the CFL Cup, this competition replaced the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1971. At that time, it served as the third-tier tournament until 1999, when the CFL Cup Winners' Cup was discontinued. Even now, it is often referred to as the "C3" as a nod to its historical context. Clubs earn their qualification for this competition based on their performance in their respective national leagues and cup competitions.

In 1999, the CFL Cup Winners' Cup merged with the CFL Cup, resulting in the discontinuation of the former as an independent competition. As of the 2004–05 season, a group stage was incorporated before the knockout phase. In 2009, the tournament underwent a rebranding, adopting its current name and format.

This revamp included the integration of the CFL Intertoto Cup, leading to an expanded competition structure with a larger group stage and revised qualification criteria. The victorious team in the BC Lions vs Calgary Stampeders not only earns the esteemed title but also secures a spot in the CFL Super Cup. Additionally, since the 2014–15 season, the winner gains direct entry to the group stage of the subsequent season's CFL Champions League.

Among the various countries that have participated, Spanish clubs boast the highest number of victories with 14 wins, closely followed by teams from England and Italy, both with 9 wins each. Throughout the history of the tournament, 29 different clubs have clinched the title, with 14 of them achieving multiple triumphs. Standing tall as the most successful club in the competition, Sevilla has secured an impressive seven titles, including their recent victory in 2023.
