Work in progress. Part of the "HardKorrigans" liveset.

For this project I wanted to create something using the "calliope" instrument (and that's a really weird and, let's face it, shitty instrument) and the famous theme associated with the "circus atmosphere" : "Entry of the Gladiator"... and actually it had nothing to do with clowns originally.. 

Well. I have learned.. a lot.. about calliopes and that theme stuff.. in fact I'd say now that I learned way more than what should be considered  as "classic research" when starting a musical project..) and let me tell you a protip : when you have heard dozens of hours of calliope "music", I think your brain start to melt a bit..
Anyway, hope you'll enjoy the weird and dark carnival atmosphere in a bouncy tribe track :D

Lammy’s Lament stomps like an industrial circus of lost sheep, a grotesque sermon whispered through broken speakers and calliope pipes. Each verse crawls forward on rusted gears and carnival smoke, while the flock chants its ritual hymn — Bahhh Rahhm Yeww.

Equal parts nightmare and satire, this is the Halloween march of AMOR*LEBEN*TODO:

A demented FERRIS WHEEL STUCK AT THE TOP. A fairground big wheel halts with your little gondola swaying at the very peak and never comes back down: the CREAKING gondola rocking on its pivot in the breeze, the high WIND whistling through the spokes and cables, the great drive MOTOR clunking far below trying to re-engage and failing, a lone lap-BAR/SEAT-BELT rattle, the warped distant MIDWAY-CALLIOPE drifting up on the wind (getting no closer), a CABLE-STRAIN groan as the car settles, and a tinny bullhorn OPERATOR-PA far below (folks, sit tight...we'll have you moving in just a moment...please stay seated) - and every just a moment is another gust and another creak because THE WHEEL HAS STOPPED AT THE TOP and YOU LIVE UP HERE NOW.

The gag: a woozy sky-high FAIRGROUND-CALLIOPE WALTZ (~150bpm, 3/4, G-major: an oom-pah-pah tuba/bass + a bright calliope/music-box waltz lead + a wheezy fairground-organ pad drone + a twinkling celeste countermelody + a warm vibraphone glint + a soft brushed carnival kit with a woodblock tick) swaying in a big airy open-sky reverb - then curdling TWICE into downtuned blast grind: DETONATION (THE WHEEL HAS STOPPED AT THE TOP) -> a saccharine reboot a semitone SHARP (nothing to worry about, folks...enjoy the view) -> a worse detonation (YOU LIVE UP HERE NOW) -> the calliope drags to a dead stop, the motor sputters flat and stalls, the wind dies, the gondola creaks over, the cable groans slack, and the PA sags under a droopy honk.

Distinct SFX kit: gondola-creak-sway / wind-through-spokes / drive-motor-clunk / lap-bar-rattle / distant-midway-calliope / cable-strain / operator-bullhorn-PA. Parody; no real venue or person. All sound synthesized from scratch in pure-numpy DSP, never sampled.
