Robert Colter is the chair of the department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at the University of Wyoming.  Executive Director of Wyoming Pathways from Prison program. And Founder and Director of Wyoming Stoic Camp. He earned a B.A. The University of Puget Sound 1992, M.A. from University of Colorado 1995, and Ph.D. from Northwestern University 2001. His work focuses not only on Ancient Philosophy, Philosophical Pedagogy, and Philosophy As A Way Of Live, but also on Heavy Metal Music, among other matters.

The interview discusses the purpose and origins of Wyoming Stoic Camp, which has been going on for over a decade, the challenges of teaching about Stoic philosophy, and some of the benefits that people report from studying and practicing Stoic philosophy. We also devote some discussion to Rob's experience teaching in prisons across the state of Wyoming
