ENDLESS SKY

What if you stripped everything you were ever told?
Stripped everything you were ever taught?
Stripped away bias?
The grass is green
Is it?
Dogs see grass as yellow
Do they?
Who's to say?
Stars are high up in the sky
Are they?
Or are stars a video projection?
Pretty lights to brighten up the night
Or are stars formed by energies of light?

Why do we do what we do?
So far removed from our soul
When you start questioning everything
Nothing we do makes sense at all

The concept of time was made up by man
Street names, country names
Decided by man
Borders of division
Placing us in prison
Who decided to create borders?
Who gave those orders?
Placed the rules upon us, taught at school
“These are the countries—and we rule”

Why do we do what we do?
So far removed from our soul
When you start questioning everything
Nothing we do makes sense at all

Every concept is man-made
Languages, words—it’s all made up
Mathematics, just another language
Numbers are made up too
Once you see what I mean
Life becomes interesting indeed
Just keep stripping bias
Until you find your own truth

Why do we do what we do?
So far removed from our soul
When you start questioning everything
Nothing we do makes sense at all

Why do we do what we do?
So far removed from our soul
When we start questioning everything
nothing we do make sense at all

Why do we do what we do?
So far removed from our soul
When we start questioning everything
nothing we do make sense at all

Why do we do what we do?
So far removed from our soul
If we would strip it all,
Perhaps we'd remember it all
Back to our essence within
Is where sense begins

Any animal that is born
Does not need a passport
Does not need money to feed
So why do humans?
We are nature, just like any animal
Born with a right to be here

Like every seed that turns
Into a flower, a plant, a tree
Where they originally grew
Is where they were meant to be

We were given legs
And horses to ride
To go and explore
Places on the other side

Why do we do what we do?
So far removed from our soul
When we start questioning everything
Nothing we do make sense at all

Borders are illusions
Money is man-made
It’s just air we trade
It’s fun to strip away bias
Enjoy the ride
Use your imagination
let go of 'how' or 'why'
Choose an endless sky
Of possibilities

DECEMBER — A Jazzy Christmas Song Collection

December is a Christmas album for the hours when the world grows quiet and the lights seem to shine a little warmer.

Between the cool pulse of electronics and the intimate glow of smooth jazz, Octave Plateau creates a winter world of its own — elegant, nocturnal and deeply romantic. Synthesizers shimmer like distant city lights, gentle rhythms move beneath velvet harmonies, and familiar feelings return in unexpected colours.

These are songs about longing and closeness, about memories that linger in the winter air, about the person whose presence can make even the coldest night feel warm. At its heart lies the belief that Christmas is not only a season, but a feeling — found in a touch, a glance, a melody, or simply in being near someone you love.

Modern in sound yet timeless in spirit, December moves between sophistication and tenderness, between the electric glow of the night and the fragile beauty of a quiet Christmas morning.

An extraordinary Christmas collection, created for dreamers, lovers and late-night listeners.

Made with love and desire.
For the nights we remember — and the ones we never want to end.

DJ | Producer | Soul Provider | Matasuna Records | The FunkBro Show

Retro Roland Riso, has over 25 years of club experience behind the decks, with a true passion for all things funky, filled with soul and truly groovy.

As a toddler, he'd spend countless hours enjoying his parents' eclectic record cabinet; listening to artists such as The Beatles, Sergio Mendes, Sly & The Family Stone, The Turtles, Taj Mahal, even The Osmonds and Bay City Rollers. Little did his folks realize, Roland snagged a few of those gems over the years to add to his impressive collection.

While fully immersed in listening to music, he began learning piano at 6 years old, which inevitably launched his love to create and produce.

Once considered the "Hardest Working DJ in Philly", Retro Roland was spinning 5-6 residencies on a weekly basis, including a highly regarded internet radio show, "Sounds of The True School". During his 4 year run, Mr. Riso's guests included Ursula Rucker, The Last Emperor, Rich Medina and Mpozi Tolbert.

He also ran a successful monthly Jazz and Soul Record Show, which was widely popular amongst record collectors, DJ's and producers, including Cash Money, Jazzy Jeff and Quest Love.

Riso also helped engineer Cozmic Cat's legendary Philadelphia party, "Groove Lounge", which brought musicians, vocalists and DJ's a platform to perform in united, rhythmic harmony, which featured a then unknown, Jill Scott.

As an URB Magazine mixtape runner-up, The Soul Provider has shared the bill with incredible performers, including Afrika Bambaataa, Felix Da Housecat, Dubtribe, King Britt, DJ Craze, Vikter Duplaix, house pioneer Robert Owens and the legendary Barbara Tucker. He recently opened up for Grammy nominated artist, Flo-Rida.

A number of Retro's remixes are in regular rotation on The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, featured on BBC Radio 6, with funk 45 releases on Matasuna Records. Plus, Roland hosts a weekly music broadcast, The FunkBro Show, on RadioActiveFM.

Notorious for working the crowd and rocking the dance floor, Riso maximizes every opportunity to drop a funky "Retro Roland Riso" remix, morphing the room into a sweaty, swanky frenzy!

octave plateau – music by Gerhard Andreas Schreiber

Gerhard Andreas Schreiber. Since the 1980s, composing and producing music under the name octave plateau. What began in the shadowed clubs of the post-punk era and the neon-lit pulse of the Neue Deutsche Welle has grown into a lifelong journey through diverse soundscapes and emotions.

Back then, working with artists like Markus, capturing the spirit of a generation in transition – between analog grit and melodic futurism. But the musical path didn’t stop there.

Today, octave plateau bridges four distinct yet emotionally intertwined genres:

Smooth Jazz – music like warm light on late-night streets; gentle grooves, atmospheric chords, and melodies that breathe and linger. It’s the sound of reflection and release, crafted with subtlety and soul.

New Wave – shimmering synths, melancholic harmonies, and rhythm-driven storytelling. A style rooted in the 80s, but constantly reinterpreted to reflect the tension and beauty of the now.

Deutscher Schlager – emotional, melodic, and lyrical. I approach this genre with both respect and reinvention – drawing from its traditions while reshaping its form for contemporary ears.

Neue Deutsche Welle (NDW) – raw, ironic, and rhythmic. NDW has always been the rebellious heart of octave plateau, combining German lyrics with electronic textures, punk aesthetics, and a dose of playful absurdity.

Since 2024, these songs – some newly written, others rediscovered and reimagined – are being produced in the octave plateau studio in Berlin. Here, the past and the present meet in harmony and friction. Analog synthesizers hum alongside digital clarity. Stories unfold in every track – sometimes with a wink, sometimes with a sigh.

octave plateau is not just a musical alias. It’s a lifelong project, a personal archive, and a sonic playground. Welcome to a place where genres speak to one another – and where every note has a memory.
