As Killers of the Flower Moon hits theatres today, we're begging to see the blueprints this week, going back to another major Scorsese/DiCaprio collab as Marty Month continues with 2004's The Aviator, directed by Martin Scorsese, written by John Logan, and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Kate Beckinsale, John C. Reilly, Alec Baldwin, Alan Alda, Ian Holm and Adam Scott. It's an extremely polished prestige picture clearly aimed at cleaning up during awards season, though despite its obvious quality it still feels like the least essential of Scorsese and DiCaprio's collaborations -- perhaps a contributing factor to the fact that Hayley has owned this movie for more than a decade without having watched it, despite The Departed and Shutter Island being long-time faves of hers. But that's what the pod is here for.

We're hyper-fixating this week on fantasy drafts and Disney+'s Goosebumps series. Other films discussed on this episode include Val, Top Secret, many more Marty flicks, Jude Law's insane output from the year 2004, and Kate Beckinsale's missed opportunity to be Queen of Earth.

Med triss i superstars i paradrollerna väcker denna film väldigt starka känslor hos Joel medan Tage minns den med försiktig positivism. En av huvudrollerna, Billy Bob Thornton, är dessutom en person som poddvärdarna kind of har träffat i Amerikatt när det begav sig. Bara en sån sak.

"Rumours" had its world premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, where it received positive reviews for its off-beat humor, entertaining ensemble, which includes names like Cate Blanchett, Charles Dance, Alicia Vikander, Denis Ménochet and more, and hazy, dream-like direction that combines multiple genres. Directors/Screenwriters Guy Maddin, Evan Johnson, and Galen Johnson were kind enough to talk with us about their latest film during the New York Film Festival, which will open in theaters on October 18th from Bleecker Street.
