Este poema sinfónico ilustra el accidente nuclear ocurrido el 26 de abril de 1986 en Chernóbil (Chernobyl), aunque desde la perspectiva de la ciudad cercana y posteriormente abandonada de Pripyat. Os propongo un viaje musical desde la promesa del comienzo próspero de una nueva era al abandono y la ocupación final por parte de la naturaleza.

Con diversas interrupciones compositivas, finalmente la partitura fue concluida el 15 de noviembre de 2022. Me siento especialmente orgulloso de ella por lo que ha supuesto como evolución en materia de orquestación y de armonía y por tanto en mi desarrollo como compositor.

Hoy 26 de abril se cumplen 38 años del accidente nuclear más importante de la historia: Chernóbil. Un acontecimiento que nos hace reflexionar sobre la relación del hombre con la naturaleza y la manera en la que el ser humano vive y crea, pero también lucha y destruye. Hablamos con JUAN FRANCISCO MARTÍN sobre este desastre en su efeméride, porque se encuentra hoy precisamente en esta ciudad del norte de Ucrania a 17 kilómetros de Bielorrusia. Hoy es su quinto día en el país en la que es la cuarta vez que acude a Ucrania desde que se recrudeció la guerra hace dos años. Chernóbil es un enclave estratégico en los tiempos bélicos en los que se encuentra el país por su cercanía con Rusia y su área de influencia. Es un territorio vedado al público y a los medios de comunicación al que ahora tiene acceso este, es Radio León, y la 8 León a través de su director y su equipo, al que acompaña el ejército ucraniano. Del mayor desastre medio ambiental de la historia pasamos a cubrir una buena noticia para la ecología. El Fantástico Bosque de Valdavido es un proyecto impulsado por la Junta Vecinal de Valdavido con la colaboración con la Universidad de León y la Sociedad Española de Ornitología (SEO/BirdLife). Su objetivo es emprender acciones encaminadas a potenciar la riqueza del monte de Valdavido a través de una gestión activa de sus diferentes hábitats, la recuperación de los usos tradicionales, la potenciación de nuevos aprovechamientos y el fomento del ecoturismo. Abordamos la parte más vinculada con la naturaleza de esta iniciativa de la mano de IVÁN PRIETO, profesor del área de Ecología de la Facultad de Biología de la ULE, quien está involucrado en el estudio preliminar de la estado de la biodiversidad existente en la zona. El 26 de abril es también el día de San Isidoro, una fecha perfecta para la presentación oficial de la rehabilitación integral del Museo de San Isidoro de León, por la cual se triplica el espacio del recinto y se muestran por primera vez al público piezas como el Pendón de Baeza. RAQUEL JAÉN, directora del museo, nos acerca a este nuevo itinerario modernizado, pero que respeta la tradición viva de los leoneses y, además, facilita el acceso para personas con diversidad funcional.
