Patrice5 (@patrice55) and I now present track 8 in our collaborative concept album in progress, "Altitude". Patrice5 composed, mixed and recorded his part on 12 Octotber 2025 in MAGIX, and I composed, mixed and recorded my part, improvising on Akai MPK mini keyboard controller connected to Logic Pro, in the evenings of 21 and 22 November 2025, when I also combined our two parts, arranged, mixed and recorded this collaborative track in Logic Pro. Patrice5 then came up with the final mix, arrangement and recording on 23 November 2025 in MAGIX. We release it now on SoundCloud, in this late Sunday evening (in Europe) of 30 November 2025, and hope you'll enjoy it.

The artwork cover for our album "Altitude" (2025) and all tracks in it uses a photo shot by Alex M on 26 September 2025 cropped and annotated by Alex M in Mac OS Preview on 29 September 2025 - in coordination and agreement with Patrice5.

Hello friends, 
  I began dipping my toe into DJing in the mid 90s. Dissatisfied with the endless loop of the 7-10 songs on pop radio cracking out of the speakers in the salon I was working, I decided to try and bring my own music collection to the shop. I was an avid (possibly obsessive) collector of lounge, electronic, ambient and dance type music. Im embarrassed to say what I must have spent in those days at Oak Lawn Records, Tower, and Virgin - may they all rest in peace - but it also began time to get some equipment. I purchased some equipment, albeit simple rudimentary gear at my local guitar center and began making compilations at first, and mixes as I progressed and developed more of a skill and ear for it.
 Today I enjoy playing different types of sets and venues. I typically do a monthly show at one of the more underground-friendly spots in Dallas where i can play out some dance melting bangers, as well as more lounge and downtempo sets for hotel lobbies, art galleries and the like.

I have always admired music, of diverse styles. Like most of us, I have tried learning to play a few instruments at a basic level in my teenage. But it is only now, in the 21st century, that modern software allows anyone to fool around being the composer, the designer of a whole composition, simpler or more complex, organising together the parts of the various instruments - and to hear the results of this experimentation or inspiration instantly! That is how I have recently begun enjoying the distraction of attempts at composing during my leisure, discovering an amazing dimension of life, and art, perhaps the most intangible, heightening and hypnotising one, and the closest to the soul... HouseHead aka James is a native Washingtonian.  Born in 1969, he has a few year under his belt.  He graduated from Archbishop Carroll High School and has attended a plethora of Colleges and Universities, including Howard University, UDC, Montgomery College, Prince Georges Comm., and most importantly the now closed Upsala College in East Orange New Jersey.  This is where he fell in love with House Music.

His love for House Music is a shock to people that know him from back in the days.  HouseHead formally known as DJ James not only was a straight Hip-Hop / R& B DJ, but he hated House with a passion.  It wasn't until he moved to New Jersey to attend college did he find himself with a roommate whom happened to be a DJ and specialized in House and Reggae.  House was very popular in Jersey, and nearby New York.  House music was on the radio, at the Black Student Union parties and in his dorm room.  Slowly an acclamation to House, turned into a love.  He began mixing house and learning from some of Jersey's best; his favorite being Tony Humphries.

DJ HouseHead likes to spin House in a way that is unique and memorable.  He prefers  to spin Deep House, Vocal House, Soulful House, and any of the sub-genre's that fit in with what he is playing.

After leaving Upsala, James mostly played at small private parties, weddings, etc.  He made his club debut at the Mirage nightclub formerly known as the Chapter III.  He opened for "Funk Regulator Celo".  James stepped away from the decks shortly after, taking on a new role "Dad".

He's back! James is now performing as DJ HouseHead.

HouseHead has been spinning House almost exclusively in both the D.C. and Baltimore area including but not limited to:
