Circuit Grooves is set to end the year on a high note with Slow Assembly’s innovative release, "Paramount," dropping on Friday, December 29, 2023. This two-track EP see's Slow Assembly continue his work at the intersections of different genres, where Acid Jazz meets the pulsating world of house beats, souped up with beats that dance around a core of rhythmic complexity.

"Paramount" opens the EP with the the original mix, an embodiment of Slow Assembly's vision. Here, the synth work is ecclectic and engrossing, creating a soundscape where jazz’s improvisational spirit meets the steady drive of house music. Following this vibrant opener we have the ZOiD Remix, an Acid track that infuses the original with a fresh, eclectic twist, seamlessly blending the more jazzy synth elements with acid undertones.

Circuit Grooves announce Dance Dance Dance, the latest release from Slow Assembly. Set to drop on Friday, December 6, 2024 - this two-track release highlights the artists’ knack for crafting grooves that sit at the crossroads of Electro breaks and funky ethereal Acid House. As with previous records he presents a fresh take on both genres with an ear for rhythm and texture. "Dance Dance Dance" brings a pulsating energy, atmospheric pads hint at acid-tinged bass that float in and out of the tracks momentum, capturing a vibe both nostalgic and distinctly off the beaten track.

Adding a unique twist, the release includes a remix by London’s rising talent Void Complet, an artist whose distinctive sound has quickly garnered attention in underground circles. Circuit Grooves gears up for another sound defining release with Major, a two-track offering from The Running Man & Slow Assembly. PREMIERE: The Shen - Another Reason (Original Mix) [Circuit Grooves]

There is a quiet optimism running through Umarga’s SEEKK EP, even as the drums stay scuffed and the bass keeps its teeth. The title track rides clipped electro percussion and a low, rubbery line, but the synths open like a window, letting in a little dawn air. This mixture of classic vibes and electro's unique vision for the future mark this record out as something a little special.

Capacity tightens the groove into something more skeletal and direct, a drum tool that hums with feeling around the edges. Snappy Snaps finds swagger in negative space, all dry hits and a bass line that wouldn't feel out of place on a Larry Heard record. This track nudges the floor forward without shouting but also without rest. 5loWs is the thick and textured slowdown, the afterglow, chords blooming over a steady pulse that feels almost idm.

Across four cuts, Umarga keeps the pressure high and the arrangement subtle, but never loses sight of small human details. It is dirty, yes, but the dirt catches the light to complete the texture. Out October 24, 2025 on Circuit Grooves.
