Sigyn (ZEE-gan) is my nearly 10 year old White Shepherd mix puppy. She was rescued as an 11 week old in January 2016 and estimated her birthday to be Halloween 2015. She is my 'Ghost Dog', 'Spirit Dog', Faithful companion, as she is named after the Norse deity who faithfully held a chalice to catch the dripping venom of a snake perched above a chained Loki.


This improvisation came to me during one of our regular morning walks around our Saint Paul neighborhood. Sigyn used to handle a brisk 5 miles every morning, in recent years however she has slowed down a bit and this improvisation is a reflection of our years together as my faithful companion in my 8 years of widowhood.
