EIEN (永延) – “Four Studies on Impermanence” is an EP that explores the concept of eternity not as stillness, but as a flow of fleeting moments that continually renew themselves.
Each of the four tracks reflects a distinct aesthetic principle tied to impermanence and delicate beauty.
This work is a sonic ritual — weaving memory, emptiness, melancholy, and renewal into a cycle that opens and closes without resolution.

Il commiato (The farewell), known by its refrain as Giovinezza (Youth) is a song that is part of the repertoire of the goliardic hymn of the Italian university, in vogue at the beginning of the twentieth century, an extemporaneous work by Nino Oxilia, who composed the verses on a convivial occasion in the 1909. Oxilia's text was set to music by Giuseppe Blanc.

Originally widespread among the students of the University of Turin, the goliardic song celebrated the end of their studies and the imminent assumption of adult responsibilities, with the consequent loss of the sweetness of youth.

Born as a nostalgic student song focused on the theme of the melancholy epilogue of the carefree university life, it suffered an unexpected fate over time, adopted, as it was, in various contexts that overwhelmed its original goliardic imprint: first adapted in a military key, then in political and social key, it ended up becoming Giovinezza, the triumphal anthem of the NFP.

The song is written by the poet, graduating in law in Turin, Nino Oxilia, at the age of twenty, and set to music by Maestro Giuseppe Blanc, The hymn to goliardia, spirit of the serene, solid, constructive, tireless and warrior youth he dedicates unverso to irredentism. This is how the song becomes one of the symbols of the war against Austria-Hungary.

Nino Oxilia died on Monte Tomba on November 18, 1917 during the arrest battle, killed by a grenade.

Giuseppe Blanc, having become an Alpine, carries the hymn into the trenches, in the Alps and in the face of the enemy, during the resistance on the Piave. At the song of "Giovinezza" on the Piave, the great Austrian offensive was broken and the war on Grappa, in the Piana di Sernaglia and Vittorio Veneto won.

Questa composizione nasce da un periodo in cui la solitudine mi ha messo difronte ad un attimo di nostalgia in cui sono riaffiorati i ricordi più belli legati ad una persona cara e alla sua mancanza.
La musica è arrivata dal nulla in una serata con gli amici, ricordo che per un attimo mi sono assentato a me stesso ed ho iniziato canticchiare la prima melodia, tornato a casa mi sono messo a lavorare sul brano...

It was a windy day, outside the trees were moving their branches energetically...what can I say, I simply let myself be inspired.

“Windy Day” is therefore my musical photograph of that particular moment suspended in time, in which nature becomes a muse and guide for the artist. It does not only speak of an atmospheric wind, but also of that inner wind that moves us, agitates us or lulls us.

Andrea Vanzo is an award-winning musician and composer based in Bologna, Italy. His music often evokes a nostalgic and warm atmosphere developed through a post-minimalist style. He merges modern classical with elements of the pop soundscape to create a new cinematic musical language. 

“Intimacy Vol. 1”, a collection of piano solo works, was released in October 2022 .  The album draws inspiration from places that have an emotional relevance for Andrea: his home surrounded by nature and the beautiful landscapes around Italy. Relationship between humans & nature, love, feelings and freedom of expression are the main themes of his music.

In February-March 2024 he went on tour for the first time in Europe with only eight concerts, all sold out, in London, Paris, Berlin, Milan, Madrid, Barcelona.

Also in March 2024 he was awarded at the prestigious G.A.N.G. Awards (Game Audio Network Guild Awards ) in the United States for his cover of “Song of Storms”, released with Decca Records US. 

His music has already reached millions of listeners on social platforms and he is currently one of the top influencers in modern classical genre with a growing fanbase of over one million followers on Instagram.
