These heart-warming tales of friendship, love and courage are brought to life through music specially written to accompany the book by Music in the Round's Children’s Composer-in-Residence, Paul Rissmann.

🎻 Dance of the Sugar Plum Junglist

They say that once each winter, when the auroras tremble and the air hums at 160 BPM, the grand halls of the old world awaken. Snow falls in rhythm. Chandeliers sway to invisible basslines. And from the frozen air, the Sugar Plum Junglist steps forth, A ballerina raver.

Her stage is a crystal ballroom beneath cosmic constellations. Turntables carved from ice spin lullabies of breakbeats and bells. Every pirouette sends snowflakes scattering like shattered vinyl. Violins whisper counterpoint to sub-bass, and the celeste sparkles with the memory of a thousand dances past.

✨ Where classical discipline meets the infinite swing of jungle. The Sugar Plum Junglist dances forever between worlds.

This was a quick test to see if I can blend jungle with classical, this month iI am going to try doing jungle in each of these classical styles: Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Modernist, Impressionist, Neoclassical, Symphonic, Concerto, Ballet, Chamber, Minimalism, Gothic, Waltz, Ragtime

My goal is to make it more to the club side of things, I want to get jungle bangers with classical instruments, I dont know if its possible, but we'll see.

20 Years with Maestro Conlon: Italian Opera

On this special episode of "Sounds from the Snow," Maddie Jones plays Detective Evelyn Hawke as she investigates a group of students for murder. Could they be the killer or could it be someone else? Maybe it’s Professor Harper, who pops in and out later in the story, maybe the victim faked their death. Who knows, but Detective Evelyn Hawke needs help solving the mystery and you are her team. 

There are several twists and turns accompanied by pieces like “Carnival of the Animals” and “Danse Macabre” by Camille Saint-Saens as well as “Night on Bald Mountain” by Modest Mussorgsky. The music is played by BYU-Idaho musicians.
