Scenes From A Story

In America the "roundabout" has been widely used to keep traffic moving effectively through an intersection with more than 2 choices.  This is a musical version of that idea in a theme and variations form.   Artists make choices every time they create, just as in life.  Sometimes we are confident in our choices, other times we're not sure where the road with take us.  It is a beautiful and risky world of free will... that influences us every day and I dare say, keeps us on our toes!

Roundabout

A piano composition born from my year-old dark techno melody with the same name. 
This fantasy takes the harmonic structure and emotional essence of the original track, transforming synthesizer lines into piano passages. Sections develop themes from the electronic source, but through the lens of classical compositional technique — from lyrical interludes to dramatic climaxes.

My music is created with my hands and recorded on Yamaha DG660 piano and edited using Sound Forge Music Pro. Images were AI assisted from original photographs. The story and characters were conceived by me using AI Generated Content.

I loved playing Muzio Clementi's Six Sonatinas when I was a student. I played them very fast and often strayed from the classical style to the dismay of my teacher! I still remember bits of each one. Here I recorded a set of 2 pieces based mostly on the Sonatina in C Major. I recorded them in one session and couldn't make up my mine which parts to take out for one piece. Take a listen to Part 2,also posted,  a remnant of this version. I hope you have fun listening as much as I had creating them!

The skies are clear; the winds are calm.
I trust the sea to cradle me from harm.
Through playful gusts, I grip and slide.
Yet, the fickled winds, they twist and churn.
I’m out of control at every turn.
The skies have darkened; waves of doubt arise.
Fear and fright sit at my side. 
Yet through the storm, I remain,
Clinging to hope, through fear and strain.
Holding tight, through every bend, 
I whisper to the changing winds:
Let it be smooth—let peace begin.

It has been a difficult year for me personally. Yet, musically, I believe I am writing some of my best music.  I am infinitely inspired and humbled by the extraordinary creativity I hear from your music each day and the wonderful friends I have encountered from every part of the world! THANK YOU! What Inspires Me...I am inspired each day to compose music that touches and connects the listener in meaningful ways that are personal to their own experiences and feelings.  I believe what the world needs is more songs about love for all living things and the earthly treasures around us. The power of love is magical, mysterious, and miraculous!  And, it is essential to our survival like water and the air we breathe.  I believe that through the universal language of music, love can heal, bring joy, and create an invisible chain that pulls all of us together, not apart.  

A Little About Me...I started composing in 2016  after not touching the piano for many years. A career, raising a family and just every day life got in the way of making music. After retiring as a music teacher in the public schools, I started dreaming of playing the piano again and my years of classical training slowly came back to me. I love every genre of music, and the talent and creativity on SoundCloud has inspired me at every level!

For those of you who follow me on Soundcloud, I have been experimenting with adding tracks to my piano compositions.  I create and record everything myself using a Yamaha 660DGX, including the instrumental tracks built into the keyboard. Then, I edit on my laptop using Sony Sound Forge Music Pro.  It's a simple set up, and I have lots to learn.  I am not afraid of receiving feedback if you have any to give.  Sometimes, it's the most simple thing I may be doing wrong that changes everything!
