Mysterious Night

Swift Current Swimmer is a sweeping, emotive piece that mirrors the epic life cycle of salmon from their birth in gentle mountain streams to their return as full-grown adults. It’s crafted for a full symphony orchestra, yet uniquely integrates beginner string players in a way that parallels the salmon’s growth.
It opens with delicate yet lively plucked notes that evoke eggs dropping to redd, hatchlings emerging then adults far out to sea. The music soars, embodying the return of the salmon to their birthplace, then fades into a soft echo—suggesting spawning and decay, waiting to begin the journey once more.
Homer, Alaska is a small town that puts a violin in the hands of each and every K-2 student thanks to Homer OPUS. This video was completed in June of 2025. John Bushell, www.AlaskaJohnnyB, is the arranger and composer of Swift Current Swimmer. He also created this video with clips from Homer videographers, photographers and visual artists.

I am İsmail Eren. During my five years of music education, I studied piano, viola, bağlama, and music theory. I have participated in various orchestras and choirs, and I have recorded different instruments and orchestras in the studio, handling the mixing and mastering processes. I am your musical renaissance man: songwriter, musician (lead guitarist and bassist), sound designer, recording engineer, producer and manager. I have been writing songs and gigging since the late 1970's. Being a self-taught musician, I have worked with numerous bands over the years; offering my skillful experience as a lead guitarist, bassist, and sometimes vocalist. Though my musical background is in Blues, Jazz, Funk and Classical Rock, I write and arrange music in other genres (for music libraries) that range from Classical forms of Electronica, to Mood and Ambient Soundscapes.
