Ok I did not expect this to be THAT depressing. 

Especially since I just wanted to use the chords from CLOUDBUSTING and sorta did, and added a fun little synthesizer part or three, too.

But the thing I'm trying to do is follow the lead of the work. A lot of randomness is leading too. 

This is one of the first times, or maybe first time I created the music utterly completely (aside from some jingles and bumps) before even thinking of the words.

Then the lyrics came, as they often do, from poking through a notebook and/or drawing a few image cards. 

The image cards all suggested being surrounded or enveloped, and from there, in a notebook, I saw remembrance of Noel Franklin, yet another troubled spirit who couldn't find peace in this world, and her boyfriend Mark Campos who also could not. Peaceful souls. And so many others I've known, who just exist submerged and unavailable.

To these friends and lovers, I offer this dreadfully depressing lullaby. 

Oh yeah, also mostly done in a day.

My boy had been in the hospital Robert Debré due to the mental pressure of being maliciously bullied and persecuted at school, not by a boy, but by a family. He is 13. It is beyond comprehension.

The following day, he had the strength to return to sport for the first time in 3 months, and I managed to go into the studio to try and find some stress relief through noise. This was the result.

I am not sure how I managed it, but I seem to have captured my inner turmoil, chaos, fear, and desperation. It scares me a bit. But it's there.

The title is in honour of the wonderful people at the Robert Debré hospital in Paris who helped my boy and I that weekend. Thank you

Also for the pianist who appeared and played the most beautiful music, just for me, when I was at my lowest ebb. He was sent to help me in that moment, I am convinced of it.

The track was made using primarily Error Instruments devices: Radio Sputnik, Cloudbusting, Broken Tape 2; some sequencing & VCAs through the modular; and some Riemann Kollection drum samples on the Novation Circuit Tracks.

Ich bin durch und durch Kind meiner Zeit. Musikalisch prägten mich die 80er, verfeinert mit einer großen Portion Liebe zur elektronischen Musik. Wie Viele verbrachte ich als Teenager unzählige Stunden in Wartestellung vor dem Radio, um neue Tracks in voller Länge aufzunehmen. Die tiefe Zuneigung zur Musik war ungebrochen und später wurden die wöchentlichen Besuche im Plattenladen regelrecht zelebriert.

Heute bestimmt Diskomusik mein ganzes Leben: Gute alte Dance-Classics gepaart mit neuen bekannten Tanz-Sounds, ist mein Credo als Wahl-Berliner. 
Als DJ klammere ich nicht an aktuellen Charts und Playlisten. Willenlos auf Trends rumreiten ist absolut nicht meine Kragenweite, mein Blick reicht immer weit über den eigenen Plattentellerrand hinaus... für Menschen, denen die Musikauswahl wichtig ist und nicht nur ein Werkzeug für den Moment!

In Sachen Flexibilität und Kreativität macht mir kaum einer etwas vor. Ich vergesse nie, dass ich in erster Linie Dienstleister mit einer klaren Aufgabe bin: 
Die Tanzfläche fülle ich mit guter, bekannter Musik, die jedoch nicht alltäglich ist. 
Ich möchte die Menschen nachhaltig begeistern und, dass sie meinen Mix noch lange in positiver Erinnerung im Herz behalten. 
Animation per Mikrofon kann ich zwar – doch die Herausforderung, der ich mich bei jedem Auftritt stelle, ist es die Anwesenden einzig durch die Musik in eine tanzende Meute zu verwandeln. Ich und meine Musiker sind auf jeder gebuchten Party erst zufrieden, wenn die Stimmung eskaliert!
