Emerencz Merkle is a DJ, producer, and head of OBSKUR MUSIC, based in Nelson, British Columbia. They have a background as a classically trained musician who delved into Northwestern Canadian electronic music culture in 2009. Emerencz draws inspiration from immersing themselves in underground DIY queer spaces and dancing in the root cities that birthed house and techno. Their sound, influenced by these experiences, blends bubbly, groovy, psy, textural, acid house, and 90s-influenced techno.
