U.S. President Donald Trump was sworn into office for the second time on Jan. 20, 2025. That means April 30 marks his 100th day back in office. 
A lot has happened during that relatively short period of time. The Trump administration has implemented sweeping changes to U.S. energy policy, primarily focused on promoting fossil fuels while curtailing renewable energy development. The administration declared a “national energy emergency” to expedite approvals for fossil fuel infrastructure and lifted regulations on coal plants, exempting nearly 70 facilities from toxic pollutant rules. Coal was officially designated a “critical mineral,” with the Department of Justice directed to investigate regulatory bias against the industry. Additionally, the administration ended the Biden-era pause on approvals for new liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facilities, signaling strong support for natural gas expansion.
On the environmental front, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin announced 31 deregulatory actions designed in part to “unleash American energy.” The administration is also challenging the 2009 EPA finding that greenhouse gases endanger public health—a foundational element of climate regulation. President Trump announced the U.S.’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement, effective in early 2026, and terminated involvement in all climate-related international agreements, effectively eliminating previous emissions reduction commitments.
Renewable energy has faced significant obstacles under the new administration. A six-month pause was imposed on offshore wind lease sales and permitting in federal waters, with specific projects targeted for cancellation. The administration issued a temporary freeze on certain Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) funds designated for clean energy projects. Policies were implemented to weaken federal clean car standards, potentially eliminate electric vehicle (EV) tax credits, and halt funding for EV charging networks—indirectly affecting power generation by potentially reducing electricity demand from EVs.
Yet, the administration’s tariff policy may end up impacting the power industry more than anything else it has done. “One thing in particular that I think would be hard to argue is not the most impactful, and that’s the current status of tariffs and a potential trade war,” Greg Lavigne, a partner with the global law firm Sidley Austin, said as a guest on The POWER Podcast.
In April, President Trump declared a national emergency to address trade deficits, imposing a 10% tariff on all countries and higher tariffs on nations with large trade deficits with the U.S. These tariffs particularly affect solar panels and components from China, potentially increasing costs for renewable energy projects and disrupting supply chains.
Meanwhile, the offshore wind energy industry has also taken a hard hit under the Trump administration. “My second-biggest impact in the first 100 days would certainly be the proclamations pausing evaluation of permitting of renewable projects, but particularly wind projects, on federal lands,” said Lavigne. “That is having real-world impacts today on the offshore wind market off the eastern seaboard of the United States.” 
Despite the focus on traditional energy sources, the Trump administration has expressed support for nuclear energy as a tool for energy dominance and global competitiveness against Russian and Chinese nuclear exports. Key appointees, including Energy Secretary Chris Wright, have signaled a favorable stance toward nuclear power development, including small modular reactors.
All these actions remain subject to ongoing legal and political developments, with their full impact on the power generation industry yet to unfold.

Despite a strong trend against coal, and recognition of coal as the dirtiest of the fossil fuels, Trump's executive order in support of coal has rippled worldwide. Kate DeAngelis, Deputy Director for International Programs at the Friends of the Earth USA, talks about the unanimous decision by the board of the Export-Import Bank to economically support Trump's plan, despite little market plan.

Carlo Cozzula was born  in Sassari in 1971.
In 1994 he obtained the Experimental Magistral Diploma with the highest grade; in 1996 - under the leading of Hedda Vignanelli Illy – he graduated, with the highest marks, in Organ at the Conservatory of his city and next year, he graduated in Harpsichord at the Conservatory "B. Marcello" of Venice. 
He has studied Choral Music and Choir Conducting and also studied piano at the concert levels since 1985.
He performed on all the instruments as a soloist in chamber ensemble also with vocal soloists, accompanying several polyphonic complexes, among which the "Cantori della Resurrezione" by A. Sanna, with whom, in 2000, he collaborated for a recording of music by G. B. Platti (Bongiovanni Records), and with whom he performed in a concert in July 2003 in the Basilica of the SS. Rosary of Lourdes (France).
He was the main organist at the Monumental Church of S. Maria di Betlem (Sassari) and at the Basilica of S. Gavino (Porto Torres). 
As an organist, in October 1997 he was invited for a tournée in Germany, performing in prestigious places, including Limburg, Wiesbaden, Lorch, Frankfurt, as soloist and chamber musician, in concert seasons including well-known soloists such as W. Stockmeier, R. Haas, M. Pirenne, U. Krupp, W. Rockel, J. Von Erdmann.
He was invited again for the October of 2003 to give a concert at the “Orgelsommer 2003” in St. Josef Church (Frankfurt), achieving great success, playing in a schedule with some of the most famous and acclaimed organists on the world scene, such as J. Parker-Smith, Th. Trotter, H. Vogel, P. Pincemaille, D. Zaretsky, P. Pietiläinen.
In 2007 he was called a part of the Jury of the 1st Art Competition "Il Filo di Arianna", at the Baja Hotel in Cannigione (Sardinia). 
He taught Music Theory and has been pianist accompanist of lyric singing classes at the Civic School of Nuoro, taught in State Schools.
Recently he has edited the Italian translation - in World Premiere - of the essay of 1846 written by the French F. Levacher D'Urclé: "Manual didactic problems in relation to the study of the anatomy of the hand" and also the thesis by M. Punt "The Straube Code-Deciphering the metronome marks in Max Reger's Organ Works".
As a composer, he is the author of music - original and not - dedicates to the international singer Teresa Salgueiro. He is also the author of a series of Concert Transcriptions for organ - even in World Premiere - from the piano and symphonic repertoire, and for pf. from the original organ repertoire, but also from accurate choices concerning the world of jazz, fusion, Brazilian music, French chansons and Soundtracks.
One of the piano transcriptions has already been recently included in a piano recital. These compositions are already available to the international artists such as: Philippe Raskin, Mariangela Vacatello, Irene Veneziano, Simone Pedroni, Igor Roma, Gloria Campaner, Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Alexei Volodin, Roberto Plano, Maurizio Baglini, Andrew Litton, Sandro Russo, Nicholas McCarthy, Ramin Bahrami, Thomas Ospital, Stephen Tharp, Thierry Mechler, Joseph Nolan, Danilo Rea, Enrico Pieranunzi, Carisa Marcelino and Clare Hammond.
