Did you know that children in Australia are more likely to live in poverty than adults? Or that, in 2021, nearly a quarter of homeless individuals were aged 12 to 24, and within the last year 1 in 7 young people faced mental health challenges? It is then unsurprising to learn that Australia ranks a low 32 out of 38 OECD countries on child wellbeing. Why is this? Do Australia’s children really matter?
