Ric, who hosted the nation’s longest-running personal finance radio show for 30 years and today hosts the popular podcast, “The Truth About Your Future with Ric Edelman,” was ranked three times as the nation’s #1 Independent Financial Advisor by “BARRON’S,” a weekly financial newspaper published by Dow Jones & Company.

He’s the author of 13 best-selling books on personal finance including “The Truth About Crypto” in 2022 and the children’s book, “The Squirrel Manifesto,” which he co-wrote in 2018 with his wife, Rowan University Board of Trustees member Jean Edelman ’81. He also hosted a series on public television and six PBS specials.

A Distinguished Lecturer at Rowan, which in 2020 renamed its communication school the Ric Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts (Edelman CCCA), Ric also taught personal finance for nine years at Georgetown University.

Chris Gheysens is chairman and chief executive officer of Wawa, a chain of more than 1,100 convenience stores in nine states across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions of the U.S. and Washington, D.C. Wawa is a family- and associate-owned, privately held company with more than 45,000 associates serving almost two million customers every day.

The company began in New Jersey in the early 1800’s as an iron foundry and a cotton and textile mill and moved to Pennsylvania with the opening of a dairy plant in 1902. The original dairy was built in a rural section of Pennsylvania called “Wawa,” which was named by Native Americans to honor a favored game – the Canada goose. As home delivery of dairy declined and supermarkets became more abundant in the early 1960s, the concept to open Wawa convenience stores became a reality with the first in Folsom, Pa., in 1964.

Gheysens, who’s been with Wawa for more than 27 years, was previously chief financial and administrative officer with responsibility for all financial, legal and human resource functions. Prior to joining Wawa, Gheysens was in the audit practice at Deloitte and Touche, LLP in Philadelphia.

A graduate of Saint Augustine Preparatory School in Richland, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Villanova University School of Business and his Master of Business Administration from Saint Joseph’s University. Gheysens is a certified public accountant who was awarded an honorary Doctor of Leadership degree and the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Achievement Award from Saint Joseph’s University.

Recently I was blocked out of SC because of a 2-factor authentication problem. It has been a difficult year for me personally.  I experienced a very bad fall in July... broken bones and the works!  I'm finally whole again and the music has kept me going.  I am infinitely inspired and humbled by the extraordinary creativity I hear from your music each day and the wonderful friends I have encountered from every part of the world! THANK YOU! I am so very grateful for your support and the gift of music in my life!
 
What Inspires Me...I am inspired each day to compose music that touches and connects the listener in meaningful ways that are personal to their own experiences and feelings.  I believe what the world needs is more songs about love for all living things and the earthly treasures around us. The power of love is magical, mysterious, and miraculous!  And, it is essential to our survival like water and the air we breathe.  I believe that through the universal language of music, love can heal, bring joy, and create an invisible chain that pulls all of us together, not apart.  

A Little About Me...I started composing in 2016  after not touching the piano for many years. A career, raising a family and just every day life got in the way of making music. After retiring as a music teacher in the public schools, I started dreaming of playing the piano again and my years of classical training slowly came back to me. I love every genre of music, and the talent and creativity on SoundCloud has inspired me at every level!

For those of you who follow me on Soundcloud, I have been experimenting with adding tracks to my piano compositions.  I create and record everything myself using a Yamaha 660DGX, including the instrumental tracks built into the keyboard. Then, I edit on my laptop using Sony Sound Forge Music Pro.  It's a simple set up, and I have lots to learn.  I am not afraid of receiving feedback if you have any to give.  Sometimes, it's the most simple thing I may be doing wrong that changes everything!
