Bradley Thunderbird Phoenix : Ahh, what is a - what is a typical day for you?

JT : A typical day is to wake up and say, “how am I
gonna get something to eat?” After I decide that I don’t really need anything to eat because I have this music I gotta do, I have to put this album together, I usually forget about that for a while. And then, say twelve hours go by and then I decide I think it’s time for me to get something to eat. So, usually a client or somebody will walk in,
give me a little bit of money and ah, you know, I do the job (record them).
And ah, you know (laughs) record some more music. And usually
somebody will come down in the studio and probably shake their
heads and say, “I can’t believe he’s still in the studio”

JT Mockery : I can’t believe he’s still in the studio.

JT : But ah, you know... You have to be reasonable in a situation. I
live in a house with different musicians and ya know whatever
free time I have I’m in the studio, recording, editing, whatever,
doing art work.

JT Mockery : Jerking off...

JT : That’s it. That’s basically my life.

BTP : Did you ever think that ah - hey, I need some cash. I need some
money. Maybe I’ll do a 9 to 5 for a little while or a part time job?

JT : No, I don’t even think twice about it. I think to do that I...
right now at this point I’d feel like I’ve given up or I failed in my goal...

JT Mockery : You sir have failed

JT : ...in trying to really, really make it as an artist. There’s nothing wrong with doing a 9 to 5. You just have to find something you like and it’s very difficult if you just wanna create music all day. Who’s gonna wanna pay you for that, ya know?

JT Mockery : Some people actually get paid!

Black Smith Craft - Shadows of love forever framed [ARP radio]

Rising from the shadows of Dublin City suburbia seemingly out of nowhere has been the young DJ & Producer, @culttt1. 
His alias befittingly captures the phenomenon to which he has gathered momentum and built a legion of loyal listeners who have come to expect nothing but pure and proper productions, toggling between tribal and old school techno.

Entering the periphery of many through a relentless onslaught of self-released rave weapons, Cult’s sound matured into one more in keeping with the classic, groove focused sound of techno which characterized the late 90s and early 2000s. 
Warm and punchy low end is a constant component of a Cult track, laying the foundations for the tribal drum demolition which often ensues amongst the mirage of deep pads, funky stabs and 909 rhythms. 
Ingenious and creative sampling manifests itself through nostalgic sounds of techno’s past, whilst also borrowing sonic fragments from rave and ghetto records.

Considering this, the young Irishman has rapidly risen through the ranks of the underground groove renaissance, positioning himself at the forefront of the scene as an innovator and name to not be forgotten. 

Thanks to well-received releases on infamous labels, headline slots in local clubs such as Dublin’s Wigwam & recent international debuts, Cult’s rise to the top, like his grooves, is going fast and relentless.

== BIOGRAPHY ==
Back in the Day, Tyler Smith aka ‘Black Smith Craft’ discovered the unique sound of acid house and was immediately captured by the hypnotic vibe that emanated from the music during the end of the 1980’s.
He found himself seduced & consumed by this wave of electronic music and fell in love with the German melodic trance style labels such as Eye-Q, Platipus and Superstition, as many of us did… 
Having followed dance music in all its forms throughout the 1990’s he started DJ’ing and by the turn of the millennium he started to develop a taste for the more underground techno sound which was coming out of England, Germany & especially the Detroit sound of the time…
Tyler Smith had always wanted to be involved with radio broadcasts and this ambition kicked off in earnest when he started playing regularly on the ‘Tuesday Session’ show, broadcast on the very popular Campus FM (Villeneuve d’Ascq/France), which was run by Dmitri Pike of Mirage/Matrix/Subject Detroit fame.
Spurred on by the development of increased exposure through radio he started honing his skills in music production and the ‘Alphaground’ website was born. This brought about more exposure for his music mission and by 2004 Tyler was performing on a number of key profile dance music stations in France and Holland. During 2006 he launched ‘Interstate 94’ show with Erell Ranson & Pedro Cali for Livesets.com, which was dedicated to the sound of Detroit. This was quickly followed by the aptly named ‘B-Side Show’ which showcased the darker, offbeat & industrial sounds. Currently the main man is managing different shows playing classics from way back, Detroit & Birmingham tunes on Livesets.com, Emergence FM (Limoges/France), and Techno.fm 
In 2006 Tyler’s finally realized the goal of having his debut vinyl release which was in collaboration with Bionic on French label ‘Audiocrash’. This was quickly followed by several upstanding digital releases. Over the years Tyler’s side to the music has become darker & more industrial, which in turn has led to the birth of his most acclaimed project: Black Smith Craft… With music released already on distinct labels from the scene and more on the way for labels including Grovsjopa’s mighty ‘Pohjola’, Leeds finest ‘Limetree’, UTCH rec. & Rednox’ superb free net-label ‘Ante-Rasa’…
Since 2008, Tyler has played across Europe alongside artists like Kr!z, the 65d mavericks, Bas Mooy, DJ Toki, DJ Boss, Bionic, Dimitri Pike, Arrestar, Sean Matters, Systemic, Victor Martinez…
More recently, he has created the groups http://soundcloud.com/groups/technotherapy and http://soundcloud.com/groups/old-school-techno-1 on Soundcloud to keep the real techno spirit alive and promote both established and up and coming techno artists from around the world.

John Tabacco is an American composer, singer songwriter, producer, recording engineer, multi instrumentalist and graphic artist. He has engineered /mixed and mastered music for hundreds of New York recording artists as well as projects released on BMG: The Kemelions, RCA: Faze, Rampage/Rhino: Rhett Forrester, Columbia: Rebbie Jackson, Rykodisc : Bob Marley, Columbia: Chris Jasper, Electra: Sonia Dada and Nickleodeon’s Are You Afraid Of The Dark? He is the CEO of It Iz What It Iz Music Publishing which currently holds over 600 songs in its catalog. He has been an associate producer for IndiMusic TV and hosts a bi-weekly radio program (CLAM RADIO) on college radio WUSB.fm since 1999.

His musical background consists of extensive study of orchestration with noted 20th century composer John Lessard, harmony with the late electronic music maverick Bulent Arel, and composition with Stony Brook University professor Peter Winkler. He received his BA in Music from Stony Brook University in 1983. 

Like an unfolding musical diary / puzzle, Tabacco’s music and art are constantly being re-worked, juxtaposed and intertwined. His style is a melding of pop - jazz -rock - avant garde / aleatory, classical and comedy.  He has been recording his music non stop since 1979.

Of note: In 1989 the satirical, absurd house song "Go House Yourself" co-written by Tabacco, Pati and DiMauro reached position 39 on Billboard's dance chart. 

In 2014 Tabacco signed a record deal with Texas, indie label, Muffin Records. They released his CD “Unfulfilled Shopping Carts Syndrome” internationally.
