Steve Bicknell is one of the foundational figures of the genre and a true veteran of the UK techno scene, widely respected for his iconic sound. A key figure in shaping the London underground, he is known for the legendary LOOP parties and countless releases on various labels, which cemented him not only as a great DJ but also as an recognizable producer.
Originally split into 2 parts, this mix demonstrates Bicknell's admirable DJ skills all the way back in 2001. The first 30 seconds of the mix were deleted due to audio issues, and the 2 parts were combined into one for your listening pleasure. Enjoy this rare piece of history from one of techno's finest.

Steve Bicknell - Concord Club, Germany (15.12.2001)

This is a very cool look at Jimmy Page's music mere months before the formation of Led Zeppelin. May 29, 1968 at the Concord Colosseum had The Yardbirds playing a very cool bluesy/psychedelic set to a very lucky audience. 

Given that Clapton, Beck, and Page all gestated within the Yardbirds, it's safe to say the Yardbirds were a guitar band. Unfortunately, they were marketed as a pop combo, so as the 60's evolved into the wilder, more improvisational psychedelic areas, the disconnect between their record company and the band became unsustainable. The band folded shortly after this gig, leaving Jimmy with the Yardbirds name.

 I play Mr. You're a Better Man Than I, Heartful of Soul, and a wild and improvisational I'm A Man. I find it interesting that I'm a Man is the song in which the band stretches out and jams, rather than Dazed and Confused, which was also in the setlist. This a very cool snapshot of a very cool time in music, as well as the future of Led Zeppelin.

"Slow Rise at Nashoba Brook Bakery" by Dr. Elliot Lach is a folk-inspired tribute to a hidden gem in West Concord, Massachusetts—the Nashoba Brook Bakery. Known simply as “Slow Rise,” this bakery and café is tucked away behind an old brick mill building, without billboards or bright advertisements. You find it by following a quiet sign painted with stars and an arrow, leading you to the heart of a working bakery. Inside, the air is alive with the rhythm of bread—racks and racks of sourdough loaves, fragrant rosemary garlic, multigrain, rye, and more, and warm slices fresh from the oven.

This song captures that spirit of patience, craft, and community: the slow rise of sourdough, the slow rhythm of a sometimes babbling brook, and the way hidden treasures are often the ones most worth discovering.

Shubin is the name of a mythological spirit that roams the mines. According to some legends, Shubin is a good spirit who protects miners from hazardous gas. According to others, Shubin is a vengeful spirit causing trouble.

This project strives to bring back online DJ mixes that were once available for listening but have since been lost in time. These "Lost Gems" vary in terms of genre with the main focus being put on techno, house, and electro.

Éxpose is the second series of the project, providing a musical platform for both upcoming and established artists whose sound resonates with the project's vision. Currently, the focus is on artists from Bulgaria, with more countries to follow.

Lastly, the project also organizes events aimed at creating a deeper cultural connection for the listener, with a primary focus on the music itself.
