Le trompettiste Noé Nillni a conçu ce programme de musiques de chambre contemporaines comme un voyage à travers des œuvres d’esthétiques et de rhétoriques diverses, mais réunies par leur théâtralité et par une commune question de poétique instrumentale : comment penser, composer, et jouer la trompette dans un esprit chambriste, l’habillant pour un rôle qui lui a souvent été étranger ?

The initial musical gesture that opens this piece is a regular pulsation that appears in the distance and fades away, very soft, as if we were listening to the air breathing, or the perception of the dripping of water when we move away from it and only the echo remains. This pulsation gradually breaks up and blurs into complex textures and harmonies. Throughout the piece there are several attempts to bring the purity of the beginning back, but the passage of time and the cracks in the musical discourse - as in human life - prevent us from the exact reconstruction of an image or a sound from the past. 

This piece is inspired by the aesthetic experience of watching Andrei Tarkovsky's film Nostalghia (1983).

Nostalghia for solo violin

Seraf is a ritual that takes place during the journey towards death.
 It´s about returning home to the seraphim, the red angels. Through short and repetitive motifs, I want to create a swarm of anxious voices. Where every choir member has their own individual freedom, expressing their suffering or mourning through the motifs noted.

Guitarrista, compositor e professor de música.

I´m a composer and performer who is fascinated by the obscure, the uncomfortable, the power of the voice, dark rituals and eerie sounds.
In my pieces I recreates events from my life. It can be a memory, a feeling, a sound or an atmosphere. My wish is to give intense and haunting experiences where the audience can feel with the performers on stage.

The Paris Conservatoire (Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris) offers specialised tuition and professional training at the highest level in music, dance, and sound technologies. The school’s 1300 students coming from over 40 countries are taught by 400 outstanding artists from around the world. Fully engaged on the national and international stage, the Conservatoire showcases some 300 musical and choreographic performances each year, and its graduates engage in rich and varied careers in all areas of the musical and choreographic world.
